Sending my stronest calling to the one above to help your lil young guy through this and you also.
HE will not let him persih it's not his time yet.

HE answers us when truly it's for others.

heck he even helped me one time at casino next day. I was able to turn my tiny bank of $35 cash into 100's playing poker.

You will be fine down the road i been through this multiple times with relatives whose children had severe operations like this one they all are grown today young adults.

Cie,

My prayers are with you and your family. I know exactly what you are going thru as my 11 month old will be having open heart surgery in a week to repair 2 holes. As you said, I am a complete mess over here too. I am trying my hardest to mentally prepare for that day (watching her wheeled away for surgery, anxiously waiting for hours, and seeing her after the surgery) but i really think its impossible. I will be sending thoughts and prayers to your son. Stay strong

Jordan23 - also keeping you included on prayers that everything goes well for your little one.

Cie just remember that there are kids going through that very same procedure day in and day out at children's hospitals across the country. He will have a team of surgeons and anesthesiologists who have trained over a decade whose sole job will be to take great care of your son. He will do great!

is scheduled for heart surgery to patch a VSD. I have struggled with this for several months, but the anxiety is now getting to me in a big way. I have barely slept for a week and any sleep I do get is in no way restful. I am not ready for this, but fortunately he is. He knows that he will be out of action for few weeks, but remains unphased. It's hard to believe this is happening now, particularly because he shows no symptoms. He is active, playing sports and swimming around the clock. Hell, two weeks ago his 6u coach pitch team was awarded a 6u world series title in gulf shores/orange beach in 100 degree heat index. Clearly, this VSD has not held him back in any way, and yet open heart surgery awaits him in 2 days. Please keep my boy in your thoughts.

I know exactly where you are at Cie. My son had the same procedure when he was just under a year old. Kids are more resilient than we give them credit for sometimes. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I appreciate all the positive vibes and info. My boy is home and hasn't felt any pain. Surgery was successful. He will be home for 6 weeks, but will be able to swim in our pool in 2 weeks and start school on time in late August without restrictions. He will even be able to join his buddies and older brother in flag football in October. Life is good. Figured I'd pass it along since so many offered advice and positive thoughts. Wishing all good things to you and yours....Cie
