There is an enormous difference between not liking gays and what Hedge did and does all the time. His statement was nowhere near a simple reflection of his disagreement with equality for all. Oh no. You say none of us on this site would like our picture posted and have cheap shots taken at them. What do you think you are defending with Hedge. He said that Sam would never have been drafted if he was straight, thereby completely dishonoring the years and years of hard work, effort and sweat that Michael Sam put into even being in the conversation for the draft. He called a man a disgrace for one simple act of affection towards another man. He insinuated that inappropriate actions by Disney or ESPN orchestrated his entire body of work. He made statements that were meant to do one thing and that was to tear down a person he will never know or meet, for what? Seriously, for what? He fabricated lies and made up stories specifically to denigrate another human being that has never harmed him nor does he even have any knowledge hedge exists. Do you think Hedge cares if he hurts Michael Sam? You can't simply abrogate this behavior as if it is a singular event. It is a constant flow of detriment towards anyone of color, sexual preference, political affiliation that is not in line with his archaic thought process. He has been told time and again that people don't appreciate the shit, yet here we are and here you are defending him. I tried that once too. Take my word for it when I tell you that you are on the wrong side of this. Hedge didn't get ganged up on, he got and gets exactly what he sows. He is the ONLY person on this site that arbitrarily attacked someone with unfounded and salacious insults meant to hurt another human being.
The worst part about all of this is that there is absolutely zero chance Hedge would say a fucking thing to the guys face other than "on my stomach or on my back sir?" You can be absolutely sure of that.

That is true, and you're certainly entitled to have your own opinion. Your opinion was the smallest part of your post. If you were to simply express your opinion on the matter it would sound more like, "I think the Michael Sam kiss aired on t.v. was over the top", or something of that nature. You went far past that. Regardless of his sexual orientation, the kid has worked his entire adolescence in order to get to where he is. There is no way the SEC defensive player of the year goes undrafted. What he's accomplished is extraordinary and you dismissed it all on a whim predicated on hate and you know it. Your refusal to accept or admit this doesn't negate that fact.

The more and more I read things like this as well as warthog spew and buddy standing up for warthog, the more smurph could be right about this place. Unbelievable. I let my anger at a couple people sway me to want to reach through the computer and wish to break theirs. Just ridiculous.
I defended Hedgehog because he, like me and many others, thought Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend on tv was disgusting (I think he said he was "bothered"). But as we all know, anything he says is an automatic open invitation for verbal assaults on his entire life, past, present and future. I'm not defending his personality. I defended him in this one instance because I agreed with him. I know he says things that are childish and irritating. Chances are, he doesn't have the presence of mind, knowledge or verbal skill to do otherwise. The bell curve of this site includes both geniuses and idiots and the general discussion forum is the playpen. Maybe he's narcissistic and views the forum as his supply. But there are ways to deal with that personality type also. Maybe that's what needed. Just put him on ignore. Forget he exists.
