w/o gino 100+% spurs cant win in deet ...

even then this is a diff. Piston animal since end of 3q in game 3 ... spurs looked scared, Deet's bigs thus far are taking TD away inside, turning him into soft serve ice cream ... their passing/ballhandling is a joke ... LB should press 30% of every game, spurs have no answer ... im surprised even after all these years that a series can turn so big in the others venue ... Pop doesnt have them ready vs FC pressure ...

glad I laid off this, i nearly suckered on spurs tonight too--but the value of a gimpy gino wont cut it ... Deet loox tremendous in team def. slides and help ...

would like to see competitive game once in finals

You're right that San Antonio has no answer for the Detroit pressure. I don't understand what they're trying to do on offense though. They are passing the ball around the perimeter with no purpose it seems. Ginobili is clearly not okay and Parker is just awful right now.

I'm very disappointed right now as I've got a ton riding on the Spurs spread.

i hear ya, my friend, I was prepared to join you big until i heard gino wasn't 100%--hes the best off player on either team (even outshooting TD by .050 in playoffs) and w/o him SA just cant beat deet on the road

the only hope i c for Spurs right now to be honest is ... GINO heal and get back home, b/c they have looked like total sh*t for 3qs and this worm had turned ... I wonder who would back them in game 5 now??? certainly not I

Gino said after game 2 he felt confident Spurs would get 1 @Detroit. I was thinking, why is your goal to get one? Spurs have played like crap 2 games in row and Detroit as most would expect is playing balls out. Maybe Spurs will play better in game 5 because that was there goal to get 1, but I have my doubts. Maybe Gino hurt is reason Spurs fell apart last 2 games.

I thought game changing moment was in 1q where Spurs were down 1 and Duncan drove to basket as result of that "no call" and Ben Wallace slapped Duncan in arm and no call from ref. Detroit gets "another" easy basket and Pop gets TF and Spurs now go down 4 where Spurs likely go up by 1pt. 5pt swing. HUGE! Detroit now has confidence being up by 4pts and crowd is jumping up and down. Spurs fell apart after that. Not saying that was reason Spurs getting a$$ed kicked because Detroit is playing better period, but I think that was huge call refs blew and def. played small role in outcome. Total momentum changer and got things going for Detroit. Those blown calls especially against road team can play huge role momentum wise.

Duncan is superstar and many regard him as #1 PF of all time. Usually superstars get calls but not only is Duncan not getting any calls @Detroit, he is getting screwed with calls. Duncan doesn't complain a lot and when he does, often he is right. He has been complaining a lot these last 2 games. Replay shows why!

My prediction is Pistons will win game 5 and lose games 6 and 7. Road team can't win on road. Except for game 1, all 3 games have been slanted to home team. @Detroit refs let Pistons play street ball and @SA refs let teams play basketball by the rules. Spurs can't play street/thug ball and Pistons can't play regular basketball.

One more thing. Spurs players must have the worst balance of any athletes in the NBA. After these last 2 games I have never seen so many spurs players fall down after driving to basket and shooting. Of course they are not getting fouled because refs didn't call it. Of course you didn't see nearly as many Pistons players falling down on opposite end with no fouls being called. So my conclusion is the Spurs players have horrible balance. :)

Maybe the SA floor isn't slippery? Spurs drove to hoop in SA same way doing it in Detroit. Except for maybe Gino.

Of course Pistons fans/backers see nothing wrong with Duncan getting hacked. Replays show it and Duncan's been complaining constantly about it and he is known as player who doesn't complain. At least touch the ball when you foul a guy. :)

I am not talking about fouls called or foul discrepency. I am talking about fouls "not" getting called and both teams not getting same treatment. And I do realize home teams get benefit but not special treatment. Maybe 5pt swings are fair to you when that 5pt swing was direct result of an obvious BLOWN CALL! Take the blown call away and I still think Spurs lose, but there is no way a ref should miss that call.

Scott.............games 3 and 4 ......

Total Fouls Detroit....40
San Antonio.....42

Free Throws San Ant.......44
Detroit.........40

Detroit outscored SA 7 out of 8 quarters..............

Sa loses by17 and 31 points and you're saying Duncan is getting fouled??????/

Fouls and FT's are pretty even..........

Looks to me like Sa got throughly outplayed both games......

I dont think whether or not Duncan getting a few more calls would have made a difference......

Do you still think Detroit is in trouble like you posted after game 2.......just curious

The problem is the way the game is being called and what is not getting called. I dunno about you, but a 5pt swing is big deal to a team not playing well and playing on road vs team who is playing well. That is the ref's fault, NOT SPURS! It was clear cut foul and a foul the Pistons been getting away with last 2 games. Its the way these last 2 games are being called and WILL NOT SHOW UP IN TOTAL FOULS that you posted. It is about what is not getting called. See my spurs comment on spurs having horrible balance.

I said if Detroit wins game 3 then it is a series. It was not a series when Detroit was down 2-1 with games 6 and 7 @SA. Detroit still has to win at least 1 game in SA to win this series. Detroit has not won in SA since 1997 and SA is the best team in the NBA at home. I do know one thing. Pistons better win game 5 and I think they will.

if you believe that san antonio may have won games 3 or 4 if they had gotten calls, you have to also believe that detroit might have won games 1 and 2 if not for all the ticky tack fouls. there is a happy medium and hopefully the refs will let the players decide who is the best team over the next 3 games.
