Wow, what a rotten way to lose a cover for Iowa backers. That was ridiculous. Did they do that on purpose? Whats the point, if so. :shrug:
That right there is what makes gambling agonizing at times..... had the cover and the dickhead coach trys to act like hes a genius. your up 14 pts, if your up 7 pts or less at that time i can understand it. But 14? Please.
Yes, they were pinned deep and didn't want to risk a block, TD, onside kick. So just ran out of the end zone. You see it more in HS than college, but I remember winning a big bet on ND in 1998 against LSU on an almost identical play.
I won an Oregon St-Wassu bet like that about five years ago.
I understand the strategy, but in that case I dont think its really a big deal.....is being up 12 with a free kick any different than up 14 and punting?
Thats why I would be chaffed is I were a hawkeye backer because its extraneous strategy.
Meanwhile, all sorts of craziness going on the UB game. I have this game on because we got local MAC action in here Toledo.....its on ABC fer gawds sake....it has been the most exciting game of the noon hour.

The safety turned a 14-point win and Iowa cover to a 12-point Iowa win, ISU cover. With like 30 seconds to go. Craziness.
Up 7 I could see the logic, up 14 that just doesn't make much sense.
