OK finally they show the 2005 heisman winner making the biggest play of his career--pushing the 2004 heisman winner in for the preposterous wiinning TD--wow, and no one comments on it

Just curious as I forgot the exact ruling but when one of the Trojan coaches was by the goal line & called a timeout with none left, isn't that supposed to be a penalty & run off of the clock?

I think it was moot since the scorekeeper was screwing up letting the clock run. The one ref was waving his hands signaling stop the clock the whole time.

what an awful spot!

he fumbled the ball on the 3 yrd line

wow

This is the biggest point that was glossed over. The spot was 2-3 yards off...not even close.

He's quite a player alright. I still can't believe Leinart running the ball like that and then the fake spike. What a game! Looks like for once the refs didn't decide it too! I don't remember any flags at the end except for the excessive celebration by USC.

Just a question...isn't it where the ball goes out, not where it was fumbled?

yes, but I never saw a camera angle that was clear where it went out. He was right on the sideline when he was hit.

CLEARY went out around the 3 or 4 yardline.

That's gonna leave a mark.

I couldn't get a spot on that ball either, looked to be at the 1 1/2. I knew they weren't spiking it and ND did, too. Stopped them cold.

I must have missed the clear camera angle. Looked like it shot straight to the side to me. I'll watch some replays on sportscenter tonight.

They gave him forward progress.

if he gets forward progress genius the clock runs out

that was complete BS

as bad as Ohio State's phantom win against Miami

either put the ball on the 3 or 4 or let the clock wind down

stupid ref puts the ball on the 1

unreal

i taped the game on DVD and rewatched it this morning ... the fumble on goal line IMO (and i looked many times) was out at app. 1.5 or 1 yl, no further--certainly no where near the 3, I think the camera angle distored it b/c it angled that way far after it flew past imaginary boundary ...

after rewatching I do believe ND prob had more chances to win ...

missed FG and the time their tall white WR came out in back of end zone by inches (kicked FG next play) and Bing knocking ball out of WRs long run could only be countered by Lienhart's end zone deflection INT by ND, altho ND was OB on sidleine pass on drive to tie it 14-14; and another huge play no one will ever think about, ND's QB was def. down on 1 yl on their final TD and with review more time run off and USC doesnt have enuff to get TD--instead a prob FG and OT; had ND made their FG and USC missed that XP, woulda been OT too ... all in all so much to comb thru to make any definitive statements other that luck comes into deciding games as much as anything

great game, Weis will wake up late at night for years wondering the what ifs ...

PC called for spike and players did their playground play for possible NC ....

awesome battle, too bad ND had to go home a loser
