Ok, a week late with this, and hopefully this thread is not considered clutter. Just want to talk a little football.

What an exciting opening weekend, hopefully a sign of another great season to come!!!

My coaches on the hot seat this year if stuff don't go well:

Houston Nutt, Mike Stoops (prob bought himself 1 more year with new O Coord) Lloyd Carr, Phil Fulmer.

I hate Front Butt (Charlie Weiss) If ND finds a way to get to a bowl game, go ahead and crown him a genius, if not, they got what they deserved over there!

I can't find a clear cut #1 team:

USC: uber talented, I don't trust Booty and they have some injuires on their D. I think they are overrated and the more ESPN sucks their CAWK, the more likely it is that they find a way to lose one.

LSU: Les Miles will find a way to screw one or two up this year.

Texas: I am not sold on their defense

West Va: Can their D step up this year?

Ville: Not sold on their D either

Florida: too much inexperience, great talent, Urban Meyer knew what he was doing when he didn't go to Neutred Lame. With a few breaks, they could be in the title game. I want to see Qb Big brutus throw the ball vs some good D though.

Wisconsin: Offense too methodical, their Defense lacks playmakers and undersized.

Va Tech: Sean Glennon ain't taking them anywhere.

Cal: Defense will be their undoing, but their team sure looked very fast.

Oklahoma: Young Qb can't be expected to do it all for them this year, Defense wont' be as good as past units

Michigan: Just ask Applachain St

Penn St: I think they are a darkhorse. Morelli will be a lot better this year, good young offensive talent, steady D. They get the Suckeyes and Wisconsin at home, and suddenly the trip to Michigan looks very winnable. I think if Joe Pa wins it all this year he retires for sure.

Georgia: Ok burn me at the stake. But they grew up a lot in the 2nd half of the Sugar Bowl last year and looked very strong. They get Auburn at home and Fla is a tossup to me and no LSU on their sched.

Ohio State: not sure what to make of them yet but Troy Smith was a great collegiate player.

I go out on a limb and say Penn State, Georgia or Florida today. I reserve the right to change my mind in mid-november :)

Ramblings:

FSU: It just looks to me that they dont' have the best athletes in the country anymore. The swagger is gone. My brother fattymanboobs part deux Amato is back. When is the last time they had offensive players you had to game plan around.

The U: They need a QB bad. Freeman and Wright are brutal. This is a critical juncture for their program. I think we find out a lot about them on Saturday in Norman.

Nebraska: They have made steady improvement under Callahan but not fast enough. If they don't get to a BCS bowl game and win the horrible Big 12 North, I say back to the drawing board, but he is fixing to sign an extension.

Alabama: Saban will have them back before too long.

Michigan State: I think Dantonio will do very well there, and they will pass Michigan as long as Lloyd Carr sticks around or they make some kind of wow hire.

Tennessee: Is there a more overrated program than Rocky Top in the last 10 years? All that talent and not much to show for it.

Oregon: Is there a more overrated coach than Mike Belotti? His teams are always highly penalized, over agressive and make a lot of stupid, selfish plays. I think his job is safe, but if you watch these guys on a regular basis you will know what I am talking about. They have a ton of talent over there.

West Virginia: The rich get richer. Noel Devine is going to be special.

Whats up with all the damn piping on college football uniforms? How I wish for the old tearaway mesh jersey look with the big fat numbers.
