Have I mentioned that I think it's time to start voting for a third party?

:142smilie

I've been ranting a lot lately. Feeling a little frisky!

As long as all these schleps feel like they are wasting their respective votes, we'll never get change. I will continue to vote 3rd Party and voice my protest until something changes.

How people can be so blind to the lack of democracy our two party system provides is just plain sickening.

it's very hard for a 3rd party to succeed because both the dems & reps will squeeze them...but i agree we need more of a choice..

I will join you and vote for a third party this year. Which third party will get the most votes? I'm not going to lie... if I lived in a battleground state I would vote for Obama, but since I'm in McCain's home state and he'll win easily, I figure I will make a symbolic vote for a third party.

Truthfully, the only reason I'm even voting in this election (no senate race, no gov race, President race is already decided in this state) is because our County Attorney is a complete monster -- quite possibly the most deplorable human being I have ever seen in a public office in an area that I live -- and I want to support his opponent.

Andrew Thomas is the incumbent. Tim Nelson is the guy running against him. I don't like either guy (which is expected, since I will be defending whoever they are prosecuting), but I went to law school to become a prosecutor. Thomas (and to a much lesser extent, Arpaio) made me shift completely during my first year of law school.

What scares me is that Nelson is running as a Democrat (never good in this county) even though he's a complete conservative. Pretty much by definition, anyone who is going to be a County/District Attorney has to be a conservative, regardless of which party flag they run under.

Oh I know. I just mean that Nelson is hurt more by his party affiliation than anything else.

yes...& are you voting ?

Obama - but I like him more than any 3rd party person and I'm not whining about this need to clear out the current 2 party setup.

Aren't you being hypocritical by calling for a 3rd party but refusing to vote for it? Shouldn't you be making a statement with your actions?

Jason: Got any more threads I can can jumpstart?

:142smilie

I told kosar and smurphy at the golf tourney that I have an uncanny ability to shut down a thread by posting in it.
