I've got a pretty good handle on CT for opening day on Aug 30 but ...............Insights are needed .....regarding Indiana.
I know that Matt Lovechio will be the new QB (took Neb. to the Fiesta bowl 2 years ago) and they should be able to throw but what about the run ....the Offensive line ......protection and especially the DEFENSE..............

I will report in detail as time passes and more news is gathered
but THIS game COULD be my biggest play this year. So many still view CT as a Div 1AA or a Div 1A startup, not quite ready for Big 10, Big 12,Big East..........but.........they're ready, their guns are loaded, they're America's most improved team from this time last year (College Football News) at 02 seasons end, they're opening up a new stadium with mega support and excitement, they have the #1 rushing freshman in the land coming in at 5'7" 185....14 lbs heavier and .1 sec faster in his 40. All he did last year is run for 1250 yards including 192 vs Io St. WHILE missing 2 games due to injury and sitting 2 halves due to blowouts. (kid can run) OH!....this in an offense that threw as much as it ran.

Why not with 6'5" hs All Am/ CT poy in 2000 Dan Orlovsky at the controls...( He's should have Sunday Play in his future)
60 % 2500 yds etc etc in an offense that was very well balanced and effective with 70 % playing as sophs or younger. Wow! did they get better as season progressed.

Sooooo much more to come but need..............INDIANA ...news

This could be a very good one ??????????????

Scholarship #s are low at Indiana, like 65. I guess due to some turnover w/ Dinardo becoming the coach.

That UConn win at Iowa State was still amazing. UConn lost to Ball St last year; Iowa State beat Nebraska. But UConn whallops Iowa State in Ames? Amazing.

When he was at ND, he was never asked to throw, he was just asked not to make mistakes. The only time I remember that they needed him to throw was the bowl game against OSU and the results weren't pretty. But that was two years ago. But he did leave Notre Dame when a coach with a passing philosophy was installed.

Chucky,

Ball St game was a tough loss
CT had several sloppy games early and lost a few they could have or should have won....This one had em lookin ahead to Miami and although they won the game yardage by over 100yds ...they lost it in OT
Really came together after close road loss to Vandy.

From what I've read so far Indiana D may not be much better than last years...if so.... CT should score a bunch.

UConn was a sleeper last year, 9-2 ATS. They won't be a sleeper
this year. I've capped this game, and UConn is a major play for me (if the line is rite). I believe I read somewhere that Indiana only has 17 Defensive players on Scholarship. 80% of their scholarships went for offensive talent???

Uconn's strong safety Chris Meyer quit the team this week for personal reasons and very tough...junior John Fletcher will step in for him...........In addition highly recruited WR Seth Fogarty is Questionable with a shoulder and other dings seem minor to date.

Sooooooo...will the corners be ok ?? will CT lose a step or two losing Meyers who was 2nd on the team in tackles with 97??

Dont get me wrong...CT has some talent...but the line is now up to CT- 5.5 and there is NO Guarantee that CT will be on the same "ROLL" have the same "MOMENTUM" that they closed last season with. I thought this game would have Indiana close to PK
and that CT would get the W. I'm going to look more at Indiana

I've heard that Matt Lovecchio has been enjoying some pretty good practices. I know he has quality recievers and have little doubt that Ind Offense will test CT. Its the hoosier D that scares me. DiNardo says they're ahead of where they were last year..but will that be enough??

Soooooooooo.........I'm in the wavering process right now. 5.5 is starting to look like a lotta points against a Big 10 school and I might just bite....
