I want to pull the trigger on the OVER 9 in the Indians Vs. Twins game. Both pitchers are struggling a bit lately, especially Colon. Plus this game is being played in the homer dome. Juan Gone might not play tonite due to the groin injury suffered last night, but one guy isn't going to kill that total. For some reason I just can't get myself to play this over. Anyone got info as to why the over is a play?

thanks,
Happy

If either pitcher throws anywhere near their capability then the over is not the play. Also consider that yesterday's matchup (Sabathia/Thomas) went way under the total; true, it was a matchup of lefties, but both starters have been getting pounded.
That game, and today's, may be a case like Nolan Dalla mentions in his comments on playing totals; key rivalries are more likely to go under than other match-ups.
Cleveland/Minnesota is arguably a key rivalry, for at least 2001, due to the teams dukeing it out for the division over the wild-card spot.

I'm thinking the same way you are on this one, Happy. Add the fact that the Tribe has historically done well against Radke, along with Colon being a headcase right now (first a blister and now a shoulder or elbow that turned out negative). I think both teams will be jacked up to pound the other pitcher. The under last nite I think also gives us a little value tonite as the total was bet up from 10.5 to 11.5 yesterday.

Cleveland is probably the stronger play here. With the Tribe only needing 4 runs to not lose both (game and over), combined with the way they've been hitting, this is a great hedge opportunity.
