ad hominem arguments do nothing for me. I don't get what me being a nice guy or not has anything to do with this. and I don't agree that you have to be black, female, or underprivileged to write about inequality or have opinions about it. I would prefer to stick to the argument of wealth then get into any personal attacks.

My quote of Inequality means nothing is of course referring to the posted video. I didn't think that had to be reiterated. It really doesn't matter (it actually usually helps) if the rich are getting richer, if everyone's quality of life is improving. no? And if no, and if you don't advocate stealing other people's wealth... what do you propose? Again, i think the facts of history stand up to any other idea you come up with.

Anyway, I am not sure what you are arguing... just that it "sucks" that certain people make a lot more money than other? Or that it is not "fair?"

I do think this video is garbage, because it doesn't really make a relevant point. In my opinion, it just tries to flood people's heads with some idea that we need more "wealth equality." IN MY OPINION (I use that in bold, because you seem to like to point out that I am a bad guy when I state opinions), it is perverted because, in my opinion (well and using history and economics as a guide), it is going to make EVERYONE worse off.

And yes, governments wanting to "aid" the poor has ALWAYS made countries poorer and worse off, whatever their intentions may be.

Right... because you are SO FAR above personal attacks. No, you wouldn't go ranting and raving about people in forums that they never frequent about how "silly" they are. You wouldn't spend the time to write multiple posts about how tiresome I am.

I love how you like to point out that I think you are a bad guy for pointing out your own opinions. When in fact, YOU are the guy who ranted and raved about me, for stating an OPINION about a word that was used in a thread. Which, by the way I apologized for almost immediately, something that is obviously way above your humble head.

But I guess when it it YOUR opinion, it is always "spot on", right? And no one else is allowed to express an OPINION without being "silly" or "garbage" or "ridiculous".

Honestly, I have a lot of thoughts about the original subject in this thread, but I am not really interested in discussing them with the likes of you or kneifl. It is pointless. You can't possibly see the other side of the argument.

Isn't this what created the great inequality in the first place? The rich make and change the rules to protect their wealth and diminish the lower classes 'wealth.

Not true. The government has a monopoly on making the rules. They, unfortunately are ruled by a lot of rich, corporate types that make the playing field completely uneven. I agree with this.

But again, wealth inequality is not the problem. Croynism and central banking are the problem. Trying to create a manufactured utopia disrupts nature and will bankrupt everyone. It always has.

Wealth inequality will always exist. I don't agree with people who want to take their definition of "fair" and then point a gun at my head and tell me I have to abide by their definition. And somehow they take the moral high ground from me.

I''m bored by this. You are allowed to have whatever opinion you want. It doesn't mean I won't find it silly. And it doesn't mean I like you any less. Hippo, I'm sure you are a nice person. I have no interest in rehashing it all.

I state my opinions on here. That's all I really want to argue about. Facts at hand... if that is handicapping, government, or religion, I don't care. I didn't like being told how to post... so I said it. I accepted the apology and moved on from it long ago.

Please, let's not bore everyone else with a personal thing between us. You can email me if you want to.

I will stick to the main point here..

EGALITARIANISM IS A REVOLT AGAINST NATURE

Anyone who watches that video and doesn't admit to their being a problem is immoral and lacks basic ethics. There is nobody that is worth 400 times another human being. It is disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I don't measure a man or woman by their net worth. Just because someone has 400x more money than another, doesn't make them a better person.

I don't think the video makes a relevant point. we can have total wealth equality (like some other countries in the past... russia, germany, etc.) and we can ALL be worse off.

They should be able to! It is their money!! And, by the way, the government is even trying to make that impossible as they are stealing 50% of that wealth at death.

And, let be also be clear about something, I don't agree with the agencies that make their wealth off the favors and skewed regulations of government ie the banksters. Private wealth, public debt is bullshit.

I may have misunderstood. Where did you get the 400x number if not from wealth?

I have no problem if someone has 400x the wealth of me. I may be a bit jealous... but as long as he/she earned his money morally and by ways of the free market, i have no right to tell him/her that he/she doesn't deserve it.

I was born into poverty, but my father accepted no welfare. His father was a judge and land owner in Spain, but my dad moved out before his 15th birthday due to physical abuse. He made his way just fine until my mom and he opted to move here when they learned my mom was pregnant. We lived with my mom's relatives until I was 3 or 4. My dad worked around the clock and deprived himself of everything. He ate less than his share to make sure my sister, mom and I had enough. There were few opportunities for a guy just in from spain knowing not a word of english. He did what was necessary. He worked tirelessly 7 days weekly. We wore second hand clothes. My dad drove a clunker. We survived on necessities, but during that time he saved money to put us in private school and to eventually start his first company. I believe in the american dream, because that is the life I have led.

I am stating nobody should have an income 400X another. Very simple. If you believe that, you have some serious issues.

Good peple living in poverty sucks, especially kids, but I have always remained unconcerned how much money the guy next to me earns. I certainly do not feel that I have any issues in this regard.
