This one just seems tough to call. Taking Michigan plus the 4 points just seems like a tough pill to swallow. They haven't been very good lately, whereas Mich St has been pretty strong all year. I know in a rivalry game that anything can happen, but I just can't see anything happening here. So, in this case, if you held a gun to my head and made me pick this game, I'd lay the 4 with Mich St and hope that Rivalry Week doesn't cause Sparty to play down to Michigan's level.

Hey Bart,

Your read is the same as mine. If Morgan weren't out I'd be more sold on MSU. I've looked at it every which way and still can't come up with anything solid.

If that same gun was held to my head......I like the Under in the game as well. Probably what I like most in the game actually

Thanks, Hawkeye. I agree on Izzo, think he's one of the best. Good to know they are bigger inside...that's helpful.

And, Bart, I think you're right on the under - I like that better than the side.

Guys,

I looked this game over several different ways.

Yes MICH ST is the better team on the court as well as statistically however this is an out of conference rivalry game in the middle of a conference season so lots of different factors can weigh in here and statistics don't matter as much IMO.

Who needs this game more? answer: MICH.

Who is the home team and gets the motivation and energy from the crowd: MICH.

MICH has also won 4 of 5 at home (Pst,NW,ILL,Iowa with only loss to OHST rivalry game) and played very tough against a very competitive and probably top 3 team in the nation UCONN in Connecticut over the weekend.

Adversely, MICHST has been home for almost 2 weeks now and has to go back on the road (albeit only to Ann Arbor) without Morgan to play an instate rival with a big game at Purdue and the conference lead on the horizon.

MICHST has bounced back from an improbably loss at home to PENST but I think they can still be vulnerable on the road without Morgan (haven't played a road game without him yet).

This isn't a game about the statistics but more about the other little things and the home court edge (MICH has won 3 SU @ home vs MICHST) IMO leads me to the Wolverines.

Just my 2 cents.
