A Charlotte, NC lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against fire, among other things.
>
> Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first premium payment
on the policy, the lawyer filed claim against the insurance company.
>
> In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost in a series of small fires. The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion.
>
> The lawyer sued... and WON! (Stay with me.) In delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer "held a policy from the company in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable fire" and was obligated to pay the claim.
>
> Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the rare cigars lost in the "fires".
> NOW FOR THE BEST PART...
>
> After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was
convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine

This one blows my mind. I swear - every kid in America did this, but no one told them how to do it....or even why???

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

I have 2 friends that have DVD collections in excess of a thousand DVD's.

Yes!

Great list. This is what happens when internet humor isn't written by people under 21 or wayyy over 45.

What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

:142smilie

Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

We have all done that.....so true...so true:142smilie

I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

Yep.....so much pressure, we have all been there:SIB

Years ago I ran a FUNCOLAND, when they first started up. (now Gamestop??) They originated the buyinh and selling of previously played games and systems... So I know a bit about that...

Every time you blow, people thought that they were blowing dust off of the contacts, thus cleaning them. In reality from what the told us, the moisture from your breath would make the contact complete when you inserted the cartridge. So that is why it worked. You would also then notice the games system got progtessively worse.. your moisture actually made it dirtier and dirtier. If you looked you would even see two lines "burned" in on each contact of the game. That was the build up similliar to a copper penny with oxidation. Take a Q-Tip, add some IPA, and wash those contacts good with some scrubbing, and somethin for the system to be insterted and Voila... a like new system again!!!!
