Credit Due?

House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey thinks the troop surge and the accompanying counterinsurgency operations in Iraq have had little to do with the decline in violence. The Wisconsin Democrat took a question during an appearance at the National Press Club about whether the surge was working ? and said the issue has never been military ? but political ? in getting Iraqis to work together.

And he added ?"One of the reasons that we've had incidents of sectarian violence go down is because they are running out of people to kill. They've killed so many in so many areas, that there are fewer opportunity targets, if you want to put it that way, for each side."

Information Please

The Clintons' ability to withhold information from the public extends not just to Clinton Presidential Library, but also to the University of Arkansas library as well. Four enormous binders of data about the Clinton presidency ? and Hillary Clinton's role in it ? apparently will not be released to the public by the university library before next year's election.

Meet the Panel ABC News reports the information was compiled by Clinton friend Diane Blair for a book ? but Blair never wrote it and passed away in 2000. The Clintons have one copy of the papers. The other is at the university.

Last month the library said the papers would not be made public until 2009 because they were not yet processed. But the library's annual report for 2005-2006 says the processing is "nearing completion." And one year later the library newsletter said the Blair papers were "previously processed."

The Hillary Clinton campaign says it has not had any contact with the University of Arkansas about delaying the release of the papers.

Village Vandalism

Police, the FBI and local security at George Washington University have spent the last couple of weeks trying to learn who has been painting swastikas around the Washington D.C. campus. Several of the symbols were reported by Jewish freshman student Sarah Marshak ? and the incidents were investigated as possible hate crimes.

Now media reports say hidden camera video has implicated Marshak. After initially denying it ? she later admitted drawing at least three of six swastikas on her door.

Marshak says she did that ? in order to highlight what she characterized as the school's inaction over her original complaint. She could face federal and local charges as well as discipline from the school.

I got one I've been saving for you then Smurph.

It's a recent report from James D. Watson, 79, co-discoverer of the DNA helix and winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize in medicine.

Its about genetics--and incidently his findings mirror a students paper on cultures from 30 years ago ;)

Have you seen it--or like link?

"Watson is an old cranky man, with a history of spewing eugenicist nonsense in recent years. For example, Watson thinks "stupidity is a disease," and the bottom ten percent of the population in intelligence ought to be "cured"

How can we cure DTB?

I certainly don't think his study had any racist intent. Scientists unlike PC crowd go by stats to make conclusions not what they perceive to be correct.

How can you you cure me on dna/genetics you ask Jabbers ?

That quite easy -here is list for you to do-

-teach a pigeon to tallk like a parrot
-teach a pitbull to herd livestock like a collie
-find another mammal as intelligent as a dolphin
--find a primate more intelligent than a chimp.
--explain to me why women are 50% of population but commit less than 15% of violent crime.
--explain why blacks make up small portion of U.S. population let dominate track and field events and many sports in general.

You have a mandingo complex, DTB. It's not "PC" to not be racist, it's every bit as logical as it is fair. Once you meet people on an individual basis, most people begin to understand this concept.

But obviously you take comfort in your racial statistics. Maybe it makes you feel some level of superiority or maybe a n1gga just done you wrong years ago and you can't get over it. Whatever the case, your (and BTJ's) constant degrading of blacks is tiresome and pointless.

Degrading and racist are your only your perceptions, the usual spiel of PC libs when they have no answers for facts--

Maybe you'd like to help Jabbers with list--didn't think so--easier to make general assertion--and didn't know acknowledging ones athletic prowess was degrading--2nd thought people have been fired for that.

Your going to have to come up with something beside opinion in your debates on issues.

Your opinions make about as much sense as your ranting on Imus and Dog while turning up the volumn on your rap CD. :)

--personally while I find their remarks degrading, they aren't making millions converting them to tape and selling them to the public.

The middle east hasnt seen peace in 5000 years .The surge has at BEST slowed down "some" violence and created less fatalities in Ole Mesopotamia. Might be be a bit early for anyone to do some "CHEST THUMPING" about just how effective the surge will prove to be.

I am one of those who thinks The jury is still out. Check back with me in 5000 years and I will let you know just were on the measuring stick of succesful military operations this "surge" lies.

Am I in the minority that I think the sectarian violence will rear its ugly head within a few months of the US leaving IRAQ ?(whenever that is of course-That might take AWHILE)

Who gets the credit there? Radical Sunni? Mahdi Army? Neo-Cons? Al-Qaeda?

Attrition already failed in this region back in the early 20th Century.....in fact, it created the Iraq as we know it today.

Interesting concept you are [NOW] trying to forward, my friend. Scientists go by stats, and I surmise you are saying they should be given some heavier weight, when it comes to a concept you find dear to your heart. I'll remember this in the next global warming discussion we have here, when many different scientists provide countless stats that prove many times over that man has a role in many facets of our global warming situation over the past few years.

Thanks for giving the scientists so much credit. I can certainly go with this new line of thinking for you, moving forward...:thumb:

Big surprise...

A Jewish college student who reported swastikas on her dorm door drew some of them herself.

Sarah Marshak, a George Washington University freshman, was caught on tape by a hidden video camera in the sixth incident of swastika drawing on her dormitory door.

Marshak told the university's student newspaper that she drew the last three of the six swastikas.

"I wasn't looking to create this, sort of, insanity," Marshak told The Hatchet, where she works as a reporter. "I wasn't looking to become a media darling. I was just looking for acknowledgment from University that someone drew a swastika on the door."

Marshak could face federal charges. She will appear before the Student Judicial Services.

Nine incidents of swastika painting took place on the campus in a two-week period.

Another student was caught and charged Saturday with drawing swastikas and racial slurs in another dormitory. He has been barred from campus.

Blacks dominate many sports? It seems like that because of basketball and football (some of this domination is due to concealed affirmative action), but actually Whites dominate most sports. Look at boxing - ESPN doesn't report on it now that Whites dominate the top weight classes. The media are extremely prejudicial.

Every IQ test ever done shows the same difference. It's just that we can't speak about it -- even if we're a Nobel prize winner -- because we're in a dark age. If this stuff were reported honestly and openly discussed, people might start to doubt the morality of integration.

The very term 'racism' was coined by Lenin. 'Political correctness' too is Soviet in origin. It refers to the line set by the communist party, and deviation therefrom. The communists want to pretend that races are equal, and suppress any acknowledgement of differences. You can't get any more politically correct than calling someone a racist.
