My bankroll took a hard hit with these games last year. We'll try a couple early this year. But if they don't win I'm off for 2 weeks.

I hate 'em

I hate 'em

Inter league games have killed me the last few years...

Gonna set a cap for myself of a couple of units... if I lose that, I'm gone and will wait till the regular season returns.....

Jack, I did real well last year especially in the second round after I picked up on something in the first round. Still looking for my notes on that from last year. The AL took the first round big time and the NL the second. Home teams in both rounds. The umps worked great. Maybe I'll find my notes. Good luck

Marlins/Phillies - 6/6/02

Marlins/Phillies - 6/6/02

FLORIDA MARLINS +115 ? The Marlins have heated up, winning 4 straight games, and they look like a very live underdog vs. the last-place Phillies. Sure, Dempster has been a disappointmnet, but he actually has a good ERA of 3.70 in 7 road starts this year. The last time he pitched on the road, he held the Mets to just 2 runs and 7 hits in 6.1 innings in a 5-3 Florida win. Duckworth is an unimpressive 2-4 with a high 5.11 ERA. We was rocked by the Expos in his last start, allowing 7 earned runs in 4.2 innings. The Phils as a team have lost his last 4 starts. Also, the Marlins are now 5-2 in the last 7 head-to-head meetings.

That was one thing I noticed last year in the UHC you passed when it came to interleague. I do not remember many people doing well last year so you really played it smart. Its amazing how hard it is sometimes to pass, but how good a move it really is. I will be passing myself on the Interleague stuff as I know for a fact I have never done well. Right now sitting 22nd in the UHC (positive units), 3rd in the NSM and 9th here. I know I won't be going down by passing. Good Luck to those that play.

I know I'm not gonna have nearly as many plays, but think there's still gonna be plenty of good opportunies to make some cash.....actually did quite well last season, but maybe that was just a fluke

The largest MLB wager I ever made was an inter(course)-league game. yankees mets game Torre pulled EL DUQUE his first year up and the mets won in the 9th. I don't remember who the relief pitcher was maybe Nelson but felt that ED had the shot to go all the way, but who am I to second guess Joe Torre ?

Bottom line NO I have not had an success at inter- league.

maybe we should have a "gun to my head thread" and post plays that we like but not actually play and see IF we (I) can learn anything?

To be honest, no, I havent had a great deal of success at it. Last year could have been a big disaster as my record was terrible, but I managed some units nicely to trim the whole deal to "just a bad few weeks at the park". By the end of it I was just a bystander by choice. This year, I am going to make a list of my favorite young stud pitchers (Zito, Vazquez, Dessens,Wells etc.) who will not command a lotta juice and I will go with them & let the cards fall where they may. I will cut my unit amout at least in half. If it doesn't work out, I will be bystanding again as I wont hesitate to pull the plug if things don't go well. Hit Em....THE HITMAN

GENO...............the thing is, I 'm not so sure anyone can learn alot of anything. By that, I mean you can learn what happened in and by this years games. But, next year it starts again with different matchups. And, just when one might think he is learning something, inter-league is over ! The number of games needed for a good data base are not there. One year trends might pop up, tho. Maybe one league will start to dominate. Or, one league wont hit lefties etc. But, that will be one of the first things the oddsmakers will notice, too. The umpiring crews will be interesting to watch. The wide-zone guys should still be that. But, if a trend does develop, it will/can get hammered as it will be pretty evident for everyone to see. Whatever I learn this year I am probably gonna remember to forget for the next. Hope You Will Be Hittin Em & GL...........THE HITMAN

The first season of Interleague Games was great for me. I can not recall my winning pct. but I won a bunch of $$$. I really thought I had it figured out but like the rest of you took a beating the last few seasons of Interleague play. I personally enjoy the games and some of the match-ups. All I claim to know about capping them is that the Marlins seem to do well. I'll wager on the games and hope to get hot like I did the first season of Interleague play. Good Luck All:)

Yes, a timeout is called for. As we begin INTER-LEAGUE PLAY, I am un-officially in rest mode for a couple of weeks or so. Really need to take this time to re-charge
an10.gif
the brain cells and to concentrate on some of my other favourite sports like the my "WNBA 3rd in ? Profiles" and also make some dbase preparations for the upcoming CFL and NFL seasons.

Will be around to play some more after Inter-League, will definitely 'tail some plays to be sure I have cigs & gas money, and... yes, I will have some plays sporadically through the rest of the season. Time now for me to "TAKE THE MONEY & RUN"
roll
so to speak. Not going to push my luck. Had a successful "Battle with the MLB Beast 2002" and need to re-group and re-evaluate the thought processes.
