Iona - over Fordham ****
Whats up with the Rams.Whittenberg lyr came in and really improved this team.Now they lost 4 losing to Siena and St Francis.Dunston is going to have a breakout yr.Anderson and Stout can also score.But the rams have problems with there gds and passing the ball.They turn the ball over a lot and make mucho mistakes.Rebounding is a problem too.
Iona is one of my favorite MAAC teams.Talk about talent esp at the gds.Burtt is one of the best players in the MAAC and his partner Solivar are the best gd combo in the conf.Both can score and are avg over 20 pts each.McCullough is the pt gd and if plays in control is an assit machine.Waschmann at 6'8 has just got better yr after yr.Bruin,Springer,and Marshall are all 6'8 and on any given nite can score.Springer at 6'9 is athletic and is only a soph.But developing slow.
Iona's downfall is the coach.Ruland has no control.Half his players get kicked off,suspended,cheat,etc,etc.He was almost fired this yr.His asst coach who is black was married to a white girl.He was let go.But is suing Iona for discrimanation.Scandals,etc.
But so far this yr they are on a roll.They beat Iowa St.They are shooting better.Are actually playing defense.The other nite hit 24-27 FT's.
It's an away game for Iona but the schools are only 25 minuts apart with traffic.
Iona has the talent to run away tonite.But Ruland will make this a close game.But Gaels win...
Richmond over Seton Hall **
Spiders play better defense.Mooney has installed the Princetown offense.Steenberge lyr vs Hall scored 30 pts.But Spiders play a tough matchup zone.Hall is not disciplined enough to attack it.
Orr is a little smarter then Ruland but not by much.Orr makes the worst adjustments.Against St Peters they were dominating and leading by 18 pts.In the second half Hall makes 5 baskets and 15 turnovers but and on to win.Thats vs St peters who defense is suspect.Also lost big leads in its other games.
