Sorry Hawkeye but I have to agree with the original post. Iowa is a joke. They might be the worst 8-0 team I have ever seen. Good grief 3 points over Arkansas State and two blocked kicks to beat Northern Iowa? They are fortunate the Big 11 is so putrid.

Fortunately they will lose at OSU and render it all moot.

A win is a a win. I am sure there are many teams who would like to be in their place. Hell Iowa could lose to Ind this weekend. And Alabama, Florida, USC are playing great??

Lets hope Iowa wins out that way during the BCS Bowl we can really cash in by loading up against them

Iowa would be huge dogs to Texas,Bama,or Florida.

It is just a guess but I would say by more than 16 and less than 23.
If I put a number on it then it would be around 21.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
The Iowa Hawkeyes under Kirk Ferentz in December and January against the mighty S.E.C., Texas and USC:

01/02/03 USC 38 Iowa 17 (10-10 at half)
01/01/04 Florida 17 Iowa 37
01/01/05 LSU 25 Iowa 30
01/02/06 Florida 31 Iowa 24
12/30/06 Texas 26 Iowa 24
01/01/09 S.Car 10 Iowa 31

Brutal.

a team that could effectively run the ball & play good defense is usually a good bet in the bowls...

unless they're from the big 10.

:mj07:

right now. i'd take tcu over iowa on a neutral field....and probably even lay a small number.

Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking, lol. The UNI game was brutal, it was also the first game of the year.

A win is a win, ask Florida and Alabama about that...how good have they looked lately? TN is garbage and Bama needed two blocked fgs and a third missed fg to beat them...but they won in the end and that is all that matters How about USC...Washington is sure a good team, LOL!

Iowa has wins @PSU, @ Wisconsin, @ MSU, and Arizona. All of those are quality wins, end of story. SO what if they are not doing it with style points, they are still 8-0 and in a spot to potentially go undefeated.

Iowa's bowl history shows they can compete with the best and they will come bowl time again.

Of course what should i expect...you are the guy that said Wisconsin would beat Iowa. I'd be pissed too if i kept betting against Iowa and they were costing me $$ every week.

:moon: ON IOWA!

Classic coming from a Wildcat fan, who got steam rolled by Iowa. Thankfully our subs gave you the last TD with a minute to go make it look remotely close.

i would love a rematch in the rose bowl or sun bowl....now that stoops finally figured out his starting qb was standing on the bench most of the game at iowa while he force fed a high school running qb into this offense.

iowa is a team that is great than it's parts (primarily because it doesnt have any great individual parts) but i for one will be hammering the other side if they face ore-sc-arizona in a rose bowl or a tex-fla-bama in another bowl game....too much offense and/or speed

Vegas must love Iowa....17 pt fav's this week vs Indiana. I think CRUSH the Hoosiers at home! They win by 3 TD's!

Bama and Florida for sure. There's no way Texas is a DD favorite in their bowl.

History says otherwise also Vegas loves to inflate Texas lines.
I mean they are 10 points at BCS #14 6-1 OKST.

They would be double digit favs against Iowa on a neutral field but maybe only by around 12.
I think both Fla and Bama would be favored by about 16 or 17. Maybe 20+ was a little high.

Texas was 8 point favs vs Ohio St in the Fiesta Bowl last year. I doubt playing Iowa this year that the line would be lower than that game.

And that is not to say I don't think Iowa can hang or even not to win.
Just that Vegas and the gambling public will always knock the Big10 these days and over value a Texas team.
