Cedar Falls is under a blizzard warning today through tomorrow, not sure their will be much of a crowd assuming it is played. I would guess it will not be played.

Iowa HC Lichliter was hospitalized last Saturday with "a serious procedure performed". He will not be at the game. A lot of rumors as to what was done. It appears it has given extra incentive to play well. Not sure that will produce results in this rivalry. Players from both teams are very familiar with each other as they play in popular summer league.

The new arena is on campus--easy access for the students--anyone coming from out of town for this one is nukin futs if you ask me :mj07:
I would guess the hawkeyes left for Cedar Falls via bus around 1 for the 1.5 hour ride up. They might have to spend the night up there, as the really nasty weather is supposed to set in around dark tonight.
That being said, the line is up to 11 after opening at 10. I think a fair line is 6, maybe a few more points seeing as the Iowa head coach is out...
I'm leaning towards the Hawkeyes plus the points, but am going to wait until closer to gametime before making a decision. Hawkeye has a play on the under and I'll be along for that ride, too.

The fish wrap this morning has a story about the 7 footer for Northern Iowa finally coming into his own as a Senior. He has had injury problems, but is over them now and is averaging 9.3 boards a game. He should have a field day against the stiffs Iowa employs down low--but the Hawkeyes can stay in this one if, and that is a big IF, they can hit their 3s.

All Iowa schools come in the night before the game so they can get a shoot around at the opposing teams gym the night before. I like Iowa in this spot tonight. I really think the talent level is the same throughout. Lickliter has been recruiting mid-major talent since he has been in IC.

I like Iowa also. Iowa's strenght is shooting 3's and the Panthers are the worst at defending them.

Can't speak to the other 3 D-1 schools in Iowa, but when Iowa plays at the other schools, they bus in the morning of the game, have a walk-thru and shoot around, eat and then play, then return home.
I would assume all the other schools do the same as the longest trip would be Drake(des Moines) to UNI(Cedar Falls) which might be 2.5 hours each way.
