Has gone from Nebraska -3.5 to Iowa -1.5, or close to these numbers. Anyone got any ideas, pretty significant move.
I would encourage you to listen to coach Ferentz Iowa Weekly Press Conference today.
I have family that are close to this program.
I wanted to bet Nebraska when the line came out. At -3 1/2 I decided to wait. I will be making that play here soon.
Here is some information that I think is important to this game on the Iowa defensive side:
Hankins tore a calf muscle prior to the Illinois game and doubt he will be back.
Koerner has a sore ankle and was out last week. Let's see if Ferentz gives an update on him.
Moss is still playing with a brace on his injured knee.
Now that you don't have Martinez to turn the ball over, Nebraska may have some success in front of that crowd on their last game of the season. Iowa has a long shot to win the west (if Wisky loses), and they are playing for the Citrus Bowl if they win. Maybe some of you are Padilla fans, I am not, and worry how many points Iowa will put up against a pretty good husker defense.
Good luck with whatever any of you do with this game.
Please don't think I am a Petras fan either. The one thing you can say about Spencer, he was a guy that could manage a game. You can't put the game on his shoulders, but, he was able to keep turnovers down.
What got Spencer in trouble with the staff was, when he hurt his shoulder, he did not disclose that to the staff until they had to find it out from others. He's been in the doghouse since then.
Back to the question: Why I don't like Padilla; Padilla just doesn't move this offense. Now, since he is getting the reps in practice now, that may get better, but, starting on the 25 yard line and Padilla moving this team down the field, no.
The offense was sluggish with Petras, not moving much with Padilla either. They have good talent on this team, and this offense just continues to sputter. Some people blame the staff, but, I just don't think that either QB has shown the ability to lead this offense down the field.
Why don?t you like Padilla?
