I have a personal rule that I try to always abide by and that is: When Boise St. is playing on that smurf turf, I look for a reason to play them, and if I can't find one...I pass. I NEVER play against them on that crazy psychedelic field....
As for the homefield advantage, the Broncos probably have a bigger than normal home field edge, as that smurf turf can be very tough for a visiting team to get used to, and they are 20-4 ATS on this field since the middle of the ?99 season (including 2-0 in bowl games). However, home favorites of 7 points or more are now just 2-6 ATS in bowl games since 1980 (including Hawaii?s loss) and Iowa State has something to prove after their horrible finish to the regular season.... Methinks that I'll take a pass on this one....
