For the life of me I cannot see how these terrible events have anything to do with our internal politics. I side with the protesters. But this is their fight, not ours. And I hope and pray that they win. That is the only way they will have a lasting solution.

Well, it goes like this Stevie. Every chickenhawk that got us stuck in iraq are now pounding their chest to get us involved in Iran. Not that they look at history which shows that when u repeat history of failure u end up with failure again. These same assholes who are pounding their chest still have flashbacks of Canada during the war.

Brutal dictator? The guy that the US made? The guy the US supported during the Iraq/Iran war, that killed many Iranians. Iraq who has had close to a million of it's people killed because the US invasion. Resulting in 2.7 million Iraqi refugees.

Iranians use to have a democracy until the US over thrown it. Because Iran wanted to keep their oil and the US wanted it.

No matter who becomes the President of Iran, they would be doing a disservice to their country if they do not try to get nukes. Because without nuclear weapons the country is open to invasion and destruction just like Iraq.

The Iranian votes went the way of the 2000 Florida votes. The SC stopped the recount just like the high rulers did in Iran. The difference is the American people did not get mad and did what they were told.

such a big a-hole...so little time...

the oil meme?...we don`t have their oil...we don`t have iraq`s oil.../thank me very much...

this is an "american":)lol:/barf) who wants to see iran and the mullahs get nuclear weapons....

an "american" who believes that iraq was better off under saddam and the murderous minority sunnis than with free and open elections, sharing in oil revenue...

then why are you here?....if it was so much better there...and in iran...whay are you here,omar?...

this and spy`s bash on islam(he "hates religion",but refuses to say a negative word about islam)are the forever an unanswered questions...

if not for jimmy carter, the shah wouldn`t have been deposed in favor of a brutal islamic theocracy and iran would be a more open, westernized 21st century society.......this is the same islamic theocracy, btw, that murdered "neda" and quite a few other demonstators and protestors...

the very same islamic theocracy that supresses women, and steals elections......and sends weapons and thugs into iraq to destabilize what is now a new and burgeoning democracy...arresting/kicking out journalists......arresting injured protestors at hospitals....who are disappearing as we speak...

a backwards, closed society existing under a centuries old, retrograde theocracy that is falling aparti n spite of their natural resources(some estimate 40% unemployment).........

yes,we backed saddam against these monsters...yes,we sided with stalin vs hitler...yes,we helped the taliban vs the communist soviet union...

i`m sure you aren`t bright enough to understand geopolitics, but, strange alliances are formed based on the enemy we face and the current foreign policy objectives of our country ...

right now, iran and n.korea are those enemies...

so keep complaining about america,douchbag...as much as some of us complain about this new socialist administration,i'm reminded how fortunate we are in america(unlike quislings like yourself) that we have a legacy of peaceful transitions of power between administrations....

despite my personal issues with how things are being run here, i have to take a breath and be grateful.....

now, idiot savant(without the "savant" part),do us all a favor and take a long walk off a short pier.....

Thanks for posting the video, Trench. Its devastating. It was hard to watch. According to the NY Times, she was not one of the protesters, and a sniper caught her from a roof top.

Facebook and YouTube are blocked in Iran. The person who made the video e-mailed it out of Tehran to a friend, who forearded it to the Voice of America, the Guardian, and five online friends in Europe with a message that read, "Please let the world know."

Well, Khamenei (The Supreme Fuckstick) is making good on his promise to clamp down on democracy in Iran. Today, the Basij militia were unleashed in full force. In some locations in Tehran, the Basij hid in mosques, then ambushed anyone on the streets outside. Reports coming out of Iran describe the Basij thugs beating protestors and bystanders with clubs, axes, machete's and chains. The Basij beat them like animals and threw people from bridges.

Neda Soltan's family has gone missing as well. And now Iranian State television is blaming Neda's shooting on British jounalists, claiming they had her shot so they could video it and use it to galvanize support against the Iranian government. Pathetic.

I fear the reports will be gruesome in the coming days. Very sad.
