Yes they are that bad. The offense is pathetic and the local media is pushing for rookie (and Akron QB) Charlie Frye to take over at QB. Romeo and Savage are doing a good job but they have to clean up the messes created by "Botch" Davis. I like Houston to win this game since it may be their only chance to win one.

Houston had 6 yards net passing against Indy, Cleveland wins by 14, Dom Capers and Charlie Casserly get fired next week. :firing:

I'd rather bet on women's volley ball than bet on this game.

Both of these teams are pathetic.

Does anyone even care who wins this game?

My advice is to put your money on something else this week. JMO.

Good luck.

one more caveat ...

when i first started gambling (b4 there was fire), I read a book by a famous oddsmaker named Mort Olshan (you guys know him from the Gold Sheet) ... anyhow, he had one line I will never forget, "Never ask a Brown to win for you."

What he went on to explain was that Brown in fball was absolute gabgage for decades and that one should never waste his $$ on garbage, find a team you at least believe in ...

He was talking about Brown in the IVY League, but it is apropos concerning this sludge match in Houston ...

Don't ask any Brown to win for you

some good columns there

take care

Speaking as a Browns fan, I really am not expecting more than 4 or 5 wins this year for the whole season. The offense line looked solid early in the season but latley it has fallen apart and Dilfer has been punished. Dilfer has tried to force the ball on many occassions this year and a few of the WR's are not running the correct routes. On the plus side Reuben has been solid running the ball all year amd the TE's have played pretty solid for much of the year. The defense has played fairly well all year but in the last few weeks the D has been on the field way too long and they do not have the depth to continue this trend. The Texans are a bad ballclub but Cleveland is not much better if at all at this point in the season. Also, the Texans have played a fairly brutal ledger up to this point whereas the Browns have played on two teams that i would consider upper division teams (Indy, Cinc).

If you have to bet this game the angle I would look at is which team has more to play for? The Browns are going nowhere this season and dont have much going for them. They also have to travel to houston which doesnt bode well. The Texans after a half decent season last year are winless and getting some respect will be thier motivation this weekend. The Texans 28-17

Even though this is a nonsense game, if you look at the schedule of Houston, they do not have another chance to win until week 15 when they are home against Arizona. At that point they would be 0-13. I would have to think the team would be aware of their schedule and consider this a must win to avoid that kind of humiliation. However, I will not be betting on Houston as this game is too pathetic. You should definitely not bet on Cleveland in this one.
