These sportscenter guys crack me up.

Is Michael Vick worth the $130M he got for a new contract??

"No, he isn't even one of the best 10 qb's in the league."

"Well, they had better be glad they locked him in now because he could have been a free agent this year because he reached all incentives in his first contract."

"The top paid quarterback should be just that, the person who has the numbers to back it up - Peyton Manning."

"Vick will probably bring them at least to a superbowl, if not a superbowl victory during the duration of these 10 years."

What cracks me up is how these guys can contradict themselves so much by trying to make their case in point. And come on, we've seen them do it a million times.

Here is my take - I think Vick is worth it, when he's been healthy the Falcons have been contenders and win a lot of ball games. Oh, and I disagree with the announcers on him not being one of the top qbs in the league - he may not be my #1 but he is in my top 5. People come out to the stadium to see him play. He shouldn't be judged on his qb rating alone because he can do so much with his feet. If he does go to a SB and wins one within that 10 yrs the contract pays for itself. Don't tell me NE isn't swimming in money right now because I know some people who live in the area and they say the Patriots could not be happier.

Thoughts and opinions welcomed.....

I haven't seen figures to back it up, but I would say the gate sales in Atlanta along with merchandizing of jersees, etc. has gone way up with Vick. Surely he is worth it if anybody is. He is so fun to watch (unless you had the VIkings last year and he ran in a touchdown in overtime to cover the spread of -4 when you thought the Vikings had the cover wrapped up).
