COMERICA PARK (CBS DETROIT) ? To put in perspective what Miguel Cabrera is doing this season, his peers use names like those of nine-time All-Star Albert Pujols, 13-time All-Star Ken Griffey Jr. and 12-time All-Star Manny Ramirez.

Even those might not suffice. Both Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland and Minnesota Twins skipper Ron Gardenhire said that people need to wait until the end of Cabrera?s career to give him his place among the greatest players ever, but Gardenhire seemed confident that Cabrera will be the best that current generations will witness.

Looked pretty pedestrian with the game on the line in the bottom of the 9th last night.

He's a good player, but lets not put him in the conversation of Ruth, Mays, or Yasiel Puig just yet.

I agree a little early to put in the same conversation of Ruth & Mays but you put Puig in the conversation. He is just learning that you have a cut off man on the field.

He doesn't need a cutoff man

Puig was said in jest.....could he be an all time great...find out in 10 years I guess

Silly to judge anyone until their career is over. But I guess that's what make sports fun

Bleed... Kinda figured it was in jest but never sure around here lately. Puig does have a shot-gun of an arm, great potential.

I wouldn't group him with too many of the greats yet. He's a good player, but still has a lot to prove. I wouldn't even group him with the likes of Ripken Jr., Gwynn, or Brett yet.

DETROIT -- Tigers star Miguel Cabrera has another injury to deal ... Cabrera has been playing through a strained lower abdomen, injured hip ...

I'm thinking if he went on a gluten-free diet he could drop some lbs and not have so many injuries.
