Happy New Year everyone!! This is my first post ever on this site and I have also been reading the site for quite sometime though. There is some great info on here. My two cents on the purdue game is quite simple.

The Pac-10 has shown so far to be quite weak this bowl season. I think you can discount the OSU-ND game as we all know ND( who is my favorite team) is in total turmoil at this point. UCLA and Cal both got beat by mediocre football teams. They both looked as if they lacked intensity and really were un-prepared. The loss of 3 starters for ASU will prove to be too much to overcome. I think a bigger loss than Hill is the starting Safety Stewart. With a healthy Orton and a banged up secondary he could have a field day. Also look at Asu's last game effort against Arizona.

Like i said i am new so dont trash my post yet!!

mav....what i meant was koetter`s bowl record.....3-0......vs tiller`s...i believe 4-4.....

and i believe i read that tiller`s teams the last 3 years fell behind early in their last 3 bowls...slow starters...

they were behind 24-0 before mounting a furious comeback last year vs georgia....getting behind laying a t.d. is not my idea of a good time...

the more i look at this, the more i think i see g`s point...if walter were playing,i`m not sure purdue is a favorite...

and keller has some excellent high school credentials...

still,i can`t picture an experienced qb like orton not going balls to the wall in his last college game....with experienced receivers...and many pro scouts actually saying that they are a little cool on him....

we`ll see...

nothing`s a lock in this bowl season...

I am not sure that Texas Tech should be categorized as a "mediocre football team".

I am however, quite sure that the PAC 10 CAN be categorized as a mediocre conference.

Good luck with your play and welcome to the forum!

Judge I caught that Oregon St. Game...........I'm just starting to fall off of the PAC-10 is pretty good so I will put my money on them against teams that they should blow-out band wagon!

But I am an SEC guy and Bama will get it started for us today.

Good luck on your plays.

Go Boilermakers!

OSU is a good team, and so is ASU, but without Walter, Their RB, and Stewart ASU is doomed. Purdue's Orton is gonna show up definately as he will try to impress the NFL scouts. Try look at this trend. In looking at what teams to pick, look at only QB's and tell me how you would have done if you picked the team that the QB was a Sr or if two Sr QB's went head to head, go with the QB that had a better season, and tell me what your bowl season record would be? I bet it'll be undefeated!! or close to that. I dunno that is my main thing i normally look at, even though i went against my rule in the toledo and cal game, and paid for it might I add, not much but still paid for it. Threfore, i'm going a dime on Purdue -7

Koetter is not 3-0 in bowl games. He took ASU to the Hoiiday Bowl two years ago and we lost narrowly to Kansas State. I don't know what his record was at Boise St., but I know he's bot undefeated. Koetter, for some reason, struggles in big games as well as on the road.

Freak,
I'm a Tiger fan as well. Even thought it is the LSU Tigers. I, like you, think the SEC is the best/toughest conference in the country. All that being said, I like Alabama today. I like Florida tonight. Lover Georgia tomorrow, And love your Tigers on the 3rd. As for the Vols, that game scares me alittle, so I'll probably stay away from that one. And as for my beloved Tigers, you never know which team will show up. The team that lost to your Tigers by 1(should have beat them. By the way). The Team that beat Florida 24-21. Or the Team that squeeked by Troy 24-20 and Olde Miss 27-24. I guess I'm asking who do you like in the Iowa/LSU Game. Boy that pretty long winded to ask you that question. Have great New Year and Gl with the rest of the bowls.

There's a poster(on another board I visit), who knows this team(Ariz St) and this is his opinion, in part, of who will win the game..

"this team(Purdue) has a better Passing O and Rushing O than ASU. They're defense is comparable. BUT, ASU has the 85th Passing Defense in the nation and you don't think that they'll get ripped apart by one of the best passers in the nation? especially, when we're starting a true Freshman in the secondary? And, we're starting a backup QB who has never started a game before, AND, we've got Dirk Koetter coaching a big game! Dirk Koetter has NEVER and CANNOT win a big game! NEVER! He'll certainly dishevel our kids and definitely find a way to confuse them and instill a lack of confidence, so that they'll fall apart in the crunch.

After this game, Dirk's INFAMOUS 2nD HALF SEASON COLLAPSE will remain intact at 3-4."

I should have titled this thread...........do you see any reason not to fade me!

Purdue is killing me............Bama just plain sucks.......Now Louisville will more than likely give me the same result.

If you want a sure winner, take Miami. I took Florida!

on 3 and1 how do you toss the ball back 3 yards and end up having to go 4 yards instead of the 1 yard that you need. That has never made sense to me.
