Where it is real F ing COLD
Typically it would be 2-4 adults and a few kids. It seems like the reviews of every brand I read are bad.

If this weather keeps up there will be a solid 12 inches by Christmas...

What's your price range? I see some real top end ones for $500. I am done with portable that's just me? I would look for a permanent that has wheels on it but the deals were going not too long ago.

I'd go as high as $500. I agree about the permanent but I just don't have a place to store it the rest of the year.

The portable one's seem to fold up fairly small.

I agree, with this weather they will be driving out there in no time.

The nice place where I have been fishing is ideal no need to bring a vehicle on ice to get a good spot, It's a flowage and a guy charges $2 to park, just park and take your tip ups out 40 yards and watch in your truck. Don't need a vehicle and if you have 2 guys, you can have 6 tip ups set up in 15 minutes. We didn't have the hot spot yesterday. 2 Northern and 3 Bass but the guy over from us caught 5 an 5. Ice is only 3 inches so we just use shiner minnows about a foot or two below the ice. (Fishing in 5 - 6 feet)

This flowage is a big system that only gets ice fishing pressure, no boats because of stumps and weeds. Going Sunday for just a couple hours before the game. Be set up by 7 and off by 10.

As far as a portable shack? I seen some online but you probably should go to a place that has a few set up so you can walk in them to see.

I can walk out from the inlaws cottage too. Mainly go on and near Shawano Lake for crappies and set up a few tip up for northerns. Can't wait.
Good luck and have fun.
