On the course!
Depends on your moral standard.

If you're anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage, you might favor one political party over the other.

Neither of those things affect you. If two guys are sucking each others dicks in the house up the block, it should mean as much to you as them ordering onions on their pizza when you don't like onions.

You're right....kinda',

but not entirely.

Do you believe that anything that does not affect you directly should be tolerated and accepted by others?

I'm saying it's a lot less stressful to live your own life, and not worry about the other guy.

So, the mere thought of two people you hate being happy is how it affects you? Maybe you should worry about you.

You deny them the every day dignity you yourself are granted.

Again, it's an issue of morality and you and I seem to have different moral guideposts.

But since we're on the subject of morality, allow me to ask you a question...

Would you condone public masturbation?

Why?

Why not?

I'm pro-abortion, anti-Jesus Freaks. Should I become Republican, Jewish, Shinto, Muslim, atheist?

And whichever I become, does it give me the right to rain down religious dogma and/or gunfire on the others?

Certainly not, but Buddy (as much as I dislike him and his kind) has a point. Buddy has a right to his belief as much as anyone and while YYZ is right (on the surface) that what two consenting adults do in their privacy of their own home is of no concern to anyone else, it tends not to stop there this day and age.

If Buddy wants to be anti gay marriage I think he should have that ability and if he doesn't want his kids taught that gay marriage is ok then he should have that ability as well. In today's society you don't seem to have the ability to let consenting adults do what they want AND not have it taught to your kids as correct.

If you are not completely liberal your opinions and beliefs are wrong, not tolerated and called closed minded.

If you want to hold to traditional moral values you should be allowed to, but you aren't. That is why what goes on in the house up the street is a big deal.

I'm confused, Penguin. Please explain.

Let's say, for example, what goes on in the house up the street is two guys sucking each others dick.

I'm straight. I don't intentionally bring harm to others. I don't abuse children, animals or those who cannot defend themselves. I guess you'd call that "traditional".

But unless I go up the street and peek in the window, I won't know two guys are trading semen.

If I sneak up and peek in the window, your saying I'm just keeping to traditional values?

Sounds backwards to me. I think minding my own business is a traditional value.

You see, I don't give a shit what two mentally competent, consenting adults do.

I don't give a shit if some wacko puts a gun to his own head and splatters brain, bone and blood on his own wall.

However I do very much give a shit when some Trumpster blasts his way into a synagogue and blows a bunch of people away. Or when a priest ass-fucks a choir boy.

Because in this day and age it doesn't stop with what they do behind closed doors, we have to teach our children that it's ok for them to do that and if Buddy doesn't want his kids taught that, well, it's too damn bad. Check out a public school sometime if you don't think that's true.

It isn't enough to accept it and mind your own business, it has to get shoved down your throat and allowed to be paraded up and down the street as acceptable and correct.

If for every gay pride parade there was a "heterosexual celebration" parade I bet it wouldn't go over very well.

I'm probably not making my point clear, but I think you probably get it. Do what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone else, but accept that others may not think the same and have different values. Don't force me (or my kids) to believe you are right, just do what you do and move on, but it doesn't stop there and that's where the problem lies.

For the perusal of those who don't care what goes on behind closed doors (I'm well aware that this is not an activity between mentally competent, consenting adults. But personally, I think this is far more dangerous and insdious for reasons that should not require explanation. Minding one's own business is surely admirable, but there may come a time in the not so distant future where one may be compelled to do otherwise.) -

You're right. Sometimes he goes a day without posting due to klan meetings taking up his time.

So funny how Trump triggers the unbalanced loony left. Enjoy the next 2 years. Just remember America first!

Any Rational person? Including the 60 million people that voted for him or just the rational ones that did not?

NO, Penguin, I don't get your point.

That's okay; I don't mind what values others may have.

Don't force me (or my kids) to believe you are right

That's okay too. Hold what ever belief you like. But it has to cut both ways - don't try to force your personal beliefs on me or anyone else, through force of law, threat of violence, financial means, mob rule, blackmail, public disclosure of private behavior.

but it doesn't stop there and that's where the problem lies.

Bingo! When you engage in any of the behaviors underlined above to try to enforce your personal, moral, philosophical or religious beliefs, you have crossed the line. A bright, clear line.

unless they are Republicans.....:0008

Nope. xstop

If two Republicans want to play hide the sausage or lick the kitty with each other, it's no different from two Democrats. None of my business. Nor yours. Unless you're a voyeur and have permission to watch.
