after taking a look at the ladies' doubles, i figured i'd take a shot on these. near as i can tell, this is the first time in a while siniakova is playing with someone other than townsend. townsend does a pretty good job of keeping siniakova somewhat sane. i'll take a shot against her with a new partner.

ok, after a little more research, i like melichar-martinez and samsonova even more. they've paired up for the last 2 clay court tournaments. at stuttgart, they crushed schuurs & muhammad in the quarters before a tough loss in the semis. and at madrid, they lost their first match, but it was a very tough matchup against andreeva and shnaider. they split the first 2 sets (both went to a tiebreak) before losing 12-10. fuck, i'm tempted to raise those bets, but i'm going to keep 'em there.
