- - The altar boys were drubbed every way possible last year, so I don?t see their long off season finding them inclined to be ?measured? coming out of the box this season, even if scheduled against the College of Cardinals or Sisters of the Poor. SDSU is between floundering and regressing under HC Chuck Long, and I will be absolutely shocked if SDSU mans up as something of a one-game wonder in the South Bend opener. The rather slow-footed Irish should look so speedy in this one as to deceive going forward.

?That's what they were told to visualize by mental performance coach Dave Austin, who had the players lie on their backs and take deep breaths while thinking big.?

Oregon State/Penn State(Ov46') (1*)
- - I can?t see it playing out any differently over 60 minutes unless both teams bumble about badly.

- - The Hawkeyes have fallen and they can't get up  intensitywise, executionwise, talentwise and Kinnickwise.

They don't even use any of these words at their perspective universities :mj07:

Agree with you on the Golden Domers.

- - It's certainly O.K. to question the chemistry (the off season point of emphasis, and partly attributable for decision by HC Tedford to give up many of his play calling duties) and fundamentals of recent Cal teams, but no reason to question the presence of speed, talent and playmakers, then or now, in all three phases, and now stepping into conference play to build on an opener in which the receivers were "psyched" about their pancake blocks. The Cougars, not so much.
