anyone else watch syracuse/toledo? syracuse went up by 3 with 2 minutes to go, but wait a minute... that extra point didn't go in. they review it. the replay clearly shows the ball in front of the upright. somehow a) they blew the original call on the kick and b) they DON'T OVERTURN THE CLEARLY INCORRECT CALL. holy shit. so when toledo kicked a field goal at the end of regulation, they should have won the game by a point. instead they lose in overtime.

i really cannot believe i lost money because of a blown call on an extra point. you know it's going to be a bad day when....

Yup had them SU for alot and also in an AR with Pitt....I was following it on yahoo and they took a point off and then added it back....WTF that was a HUGE fing loss...i need A&M and ECU just to make it a respectable bad day. First they fuck me by leaving the BE and then this. just go down and kiss coach K's ASS

it's one thing to lose on a sick ending, like utah against usc 2 weeks ago. but to lose on a blown call on a missed extra point? that is a) truly a first and b) just sick.

ha. i can't even imagine what goes on down there. but a blown call on an extra point? that somehow isn't reversed by replay? that's gotta take the cake.

thanks for the congrats, guys. i'm still a little stunned. i had 3 horses alive in the 10th. one would have paid $10K, one would have paid $16K, and one would have paid $24K. the one that paid $10K romped. i'm still a little stunned. and buzzed. :toast:

morris, if you're still reading... if you want to see something entertaining, i'll be celebrating my 40th birthday at the knickerbocker/pepsi/timesunion arenacenter next month when the devils play adirondack. my girlfriend set up a zamboni ride for me between periods. should be a good time. :00hour

=Sweet!!!

I hit one at Sar about 15 years ago. That's an elite club you belong to now!! :0074

oh, morris, almost forgot... yeah, this is a first for me. i hit 5/6 at belmont last year for $1K and the pick 4 at last year's breeders cup for about $6K. but i'll be enjoying this one for awhile. and probably talking about it for years.

thanks, jb. the whole thing was kinda surreal. i singled the first 5 legs. yes, seriously. and after each leg, i was kidding around with my girlfriend... "i'm still alive in the pick 6. only 5 races to go." "i'm still alive... only 4 races to go..." by the 9th race, i was starting to take it a little more seriously. unreal.

i know what you mean about the football version of the pick 6 but, courtesy of bill simmons, there's a new name for it. it's called a TAINT, for Touchdown After INT. tell me that's not genius. :0008

jb, nyra's min for the pick 6 is $2, so it was a $6 ticket (singles in the first 5 and 3 horses in the last). believe me, this was more lottery ticket than handicapping. i hadn't even looked at the card (you know, being busy with football and whatnot), but just happened to open my nyra account about 15 minutes before the first leg of the pick 6. looking back, i'm not even sure why i did it. anyway, 4 of the horses i used were horses i was at least a little familiar with, but i had no time to handicap for the muddy track. so i just took a shot for shits and giggles. that was the only ticket i played that day, until the last 2 races, when i started hedging like crazy. i probably blew close to $200 just hedging. mostly on the last race.
anyway, that certainly takes the sting out of losing a dime on football this weekend. that toledo game was a sign of how things were going to go all weekend. you know, except for the horses.

i may have missed simmons' column on the nba all-star weekend this year. i think the last one i remember is from 2 years ago. i love his stories about his vegas trips, including the 2007 all-star game.
