How come you don't have to be listed as one of the users browsing the forum? I see a lot of lurkers post when their name is mentioned but they have the option to hide behind the scences.

Why are people allowed to post $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ or GOY or LOCK or GOM or POST GOY LATER or take people on wild goose chases?

How come certain users supposedly have "systems" or "locks" but never post why or how they came to these conclusions? If they weren't going pay or trying to recruit clients why couldn't they share their info with eveyone else?

Just a couple of suggestions to help inprove the forum.

1- some people don't like it to be known they are browsing a forum. what's wrong with that? i hide myself when browsing.

2- they really shouldn't and people shouldn't pay attention to it, but i can't tell people what to say. we have a few rules that i try to enforce the best i can. we have over 6000 members and over 40,000 different people that visit the site weekly. you wouldn't believe the email i get from members and non members. i do the best i can.

3- because they probably don't have systems or they don't have time to post it or they don't want people to know it. there are many out there with agendas so i and you and we have to keep a keen eye out.

hope this helps and thanks for the suggestions.

keep the suggestions coming.

you do a good job Jack and I respect that, but it is obvious lately that a lot of these people advertise subtley for free, and also use this as a springboard to go pay, which is not right, if people like r--y---d and others have services, whats their point of posting here? they dont wanna help people, they want to get customers to say great night, great this, and then join their service, thats why they post for free, not to be nice, People have their own agendas, it is sad but very true....Keep up the great site

i am definitely getting tired of all the subtle advertising. we have a NO ADVERTISING rule since the inception of the site. i'm not sure what i'm going to do about it yet but something has to give.

any suggestions?

most people don't want the services here but there are a lot that like them. it puts me in a bind. then, i have the services emailing me wanting more leeway and ones pissing and moaning about other services and their subtle advertising. wtf to do?

i'm seriously thinking about making a separate forum for services only and not permit them to post in the handicapping forums. if people want to hear from the services they can visit that forum. and, there will still be the NO ADVERTISING rule.

this place was, is, and will always be a place for people to help each other win and help each other win FOR FREE!

Jack, I understand your dilemma. it is a difficult one, people will always want the opposite and you can't please everyone, just try to please the masses....I think a separate forum for nation clown whatever his name is, and volfan, and ray who obviously ONLY post here to try to get customers, they went PAY, why else would they still post??? to help people???? come on, just my opinion, you still own the site, but a separate folder, with no advertising, but where those guys can post their picks and we dont have to read them pretending they care about other people, they post here to improve their bottom line, and that is the bottom line, just think about it logically

1. Why can people who say they quit the forum or went service be allowed to browse undetected? AGENDAS! I can see why you don't want to be known. I don't want to get into specific names but WTF?

2. You can't make a rule against this? I know you get a lot of traffic but so does Kennedy Airport. Can't you get an admin in each forum? I'm sure KickServ or anyone from America Junior would keep an eye out for a couple loonies an hour.

yeah its hard to find anything worth reading these days....still a few threads but not much at all.....

and when you DO try to get a discussion going it inevitably ends up in someone touting their own school/team whatever

i guess the nimrods of the world have found this place....thus you see the success of people selling their picks on here.....

basically a bunch of trash and all the not so subtle advertising makes me want to puke....

I was always wondering why you allow people to post that they are a professional handicapper in their profiles section. I think thats a form of advertising. If a member starts posting winners and draws attention to him or her, I tend to check his/her profile to see what this cat is all about, only to find out that their Occupation is a Sports Handicapper (with a email address) that so calls loves to make people money. As an effort to enforce the No Advertising policy, I would start to screen through these trouts profiles. A perfect example is Jounior 44 which clearly states capper in his profile and accuses Nation 30 and Volfan for advertising Pay:shrug:

I just think people are taken advantage of their profile section.

Just a suggestion

do not see any problem with any pay services giving picks here.i have joined 4 of your pay sites advertised here and noticed one of them gave out a 5% play here last night.only problem i paid for a 6% play on the other team from one of his partners.i lost.wish there was a way for each pay site to post the picks and results the next day so we really could see the real record.presently i believe kc wolfs site has a current record posted for day to day picks and results.i love your site.hate to see so many go pay but i think we will see them here in the future.keep up the good work.

lowell, if that shit really happened w/guys here, then I will not defend anyone of the individuals again( not that they have ask me for help
 )

That the shit that really pisses me off and IMO if you run a business like selling picks, then your partners should be on the same side or take no side at all, that's bull shit!!

If someone whats to go pay, who cares, but don't be playing both sides of a game, now that's being shady:nono: :moon: :thefinger

It seems to me this is much ado about nothing. The prevailing sentiment in this forum is pay services are not worth the money. While I rarely post plays, I browze the forums with regularity gathering information for my plays.

What on chooses to do is their own business. If you don't like the "advertising", don't read the post and don't give the touts their business.

I appreciate this site for what it is, a place to exchange ideas, gather information and make, hopefully, correct decisions.

It is great of Jack to put this site on the net. I don't believe he needs to hold our hands as we use it!

lowell, who pulled that shit? there is NO excuse for that shit no matter what they say.

the service will take credit for the win and ignore the loss as if it never happened. that service should be exposed for what it did.

totall bullshit and the exact reason why services get a bad rap.

who was it?

One addendum to my above statement...

One addendum to my above statement...

I do think if a service has different handicappers that you can buy, and all those cappers are keeping INDIVIDUAL records then I really don't have a problem with two cappers having opposite sides. I don't believe that constitutes anything dishonest.

Opinions!!!

Opinions!!!

I read the opinions of many here and I'll offer my own. The guys here that are great cappers, and have had success on a regular basis, have the right to continue to post here for FREE! In the last several weeks, I've followed as closely as possible the picks of some Profesional cappers mentioned above, that post here for FREE, including the Pay service that I've used for years and will continue to use for life. The combined plays of those here that I follow have gone 19-3 over the last few weeks, including one cappers highest rated play, (4*), that has hit the last 6 in a row, including the 4* last night on Golden State Warriors +1.5 vs Atlanta Hawks!! Final score Warriors 98-85....catching 1.5points!!

These cappers often go pay as an addition to their FREE help here, because that is what some of us here request of them. I GLADLY accept every bone that these guys throw us for free, but I am very willing to pay for them to take more time away from their families and personal lives to capp me additional WINNERS!!

I suspect that my story is similiar to others here. I bet sports as a hobby!! I set aside a dollar amount to play with and when it's gone, I'm through. This is my alternative to other recreation like drinking and smoking, etc.... Once I found a GREAT pay service, it helped me bet year round, since his winners offset my losers. A good service will win aprox. $10,000.00 a year under reasonable MONEY MANAGEMENT, and reasonable bankroll, and some feel for when the capper is at his best and at which sports he's most comfortable.

NOT ONCE........have any of these cappers posting for free at Mad Jacks, solicited my business!! NOT Fletcher, NOT Raymond, NOT Cajun-Sports, or any others.

So, Please be respectful to these great cappers and others here, BECAUSE I NEED, and APPRECIATE THEIR HELP!!!

Thanks, Keep it Positive, Topdog

.....................................................................

I have seen more and more attempts at the subtle advertising and I ignore it for the most part.

Once a person does go pay I just don't follow their picks anymore.
I want the best picks possible from anyone posting in the forums and that is not always the case with services.

I still read them occasionally but I am not willing to try to figure out what quality pick they are posting.

A separate forum for services would work well for me. At least we know what is going on and it would give us a way to compare the services side by side and the picks they provide.

You never know a services forum might be very popular and get some competition going to give us good picks.

I agree with almost everything Topdog said in his post.

thanks

KOD

Scott you are correct,... in most cases, I have to agree.

I sell auto parts for a living & I will give you a $2.95 can of glass cleaner for free.

But the $400.00 mass air flow sensor you will have to pay for.

The exception is one capper I know for sure occasionally posts a service play here. But then he has the paying members bitching at him for posting it. Just the same he has always tried to help here and it is his call.

No offense but as far as systems are concerned, why must they be posted? Have you ever thought that when systems that are on a tear get published out there, & get a ton of followers, lines & opportunities to pounce get fewer & far inbetween.

Do you want them to post what they were wearing when they established the system too, maybe their social security number as well

Mr Hockey, you are so correct ! That is what so many fail to understand. Everyone says bust your bookie, Hope your bookie's children go hunger etc. No disrespect intended here but we are playing against each other the book is simply a middle man that charges a processing fee. When everyone gets on a hot team or system the tide changes most of the time, in good time.
