Lol, it doesn't annoy me at all... I really just think it is hilarious how much congrats you get for doing nothing! Stuns me! And not just you of course. All the people who take such pride in a bunch of guys winning a football game that you have nothing to do with.

If they want to congratulate you on running and hosting the site for us, then I'm all in

:toast:

I get being happy for the people involved. These guys put their blood, sweat, and tears into something and then accomplish their... that is a feel good story

To me sports is just entertainment and a release.. I know I didn't catch the ball or hit the
Game winner.. I do enjoy the camaraderie among fans( of the same team) winning or losing..

No more, no less ...,

I drop f bombs when they suck and high five when they excel...

I tell my kids ... Movie stars and sports figures are JUST entertainment .. The true inspirations are the machinists, engineers, etc. who keep
This world moving. If they all walked off the job, WE would feel the impact much more than
If Lindsey Lohan never made another movie

You are correct.

This dude asked a "simple" question with one goal in mind; Getting the requisite answer, and then going on his planned diatribe to educate everyone on why we live in a horribly archaic society, where the masses walk with blinders on, in lock-step.

I wouldn't go that far. I certainly don't consider it archaic. I would argue it has become substantially worse in the 20th century with the hundreds of millions of deaths at the hands of government.

The reason i posted it is because I am interested to hear how people think. I don't automatically knock them into some negative broad generalization because of how they think. I never knocked anyone for rooting for sports teams. I do it all the time. I never knocked anyone for wanting camaradarie, or getting away from real life, or whatever else the hell sports brings them. :0corn I know you think you know it all, bro... but my post was what it was. And a lot of people (lawtchan, Fehkr, one-timer) gave completely legit points.

The whole "we" thing in relation to sports teams that you have nothing to do with, still kills me. What made me go into the sports culture and origin of the schooling system/pep rally "diatribe" was Jack's picture of people flooding the streets. The chain of obedience scares the shit out me.People can be brainwashed into so many things. The people in charge have much more powerful weapons than a Madjacksports message board. I really don't care what you think of me or what your guesses on my background or intentions were. You are fine with the way our society is today... cool. I'm not. I'm scared for my kids future. It's real, bro. We are 100x less free than we were 100 years ago. Can you argue that point without some assumption or personal insult?

This is so unfair. Jack takes shit for 10 years every time the Ravens choke, Flacco has a 4 interception game, or Ray Lewis is an accessory to murder, and now that its finally time to celebrate, now we need to analyze why we feel he need to associate the self into groups ..... It ain't right

exactly....jord,i think we`d agree on most things...but listen to yourself.. you`re psychoanalyzing people for using the word "we" when rooting for their home team?....

seriously?.........

it`s quite obvious that nobody is trying to intimate that they somehow bear responsibility for the team`s success or failure...

it`s a sports forum..nobody`s talking about "government".....therefore it involves sports...if we were at war with china but one wasn`t an active member of the military would they be allowed to use the word "we" when discussing america`s prospects for success?....

whoa...

You are just being an asshole (which seems to be par for the course for you), and have zero interest in hearing another point of view. Therefore, I have no interest in telling you. It's a waste of my time. Despite your psychoanalysis of me (kind of ironic, ey?), I had no intention turning this thread into a debate about government.

Keep living your cushy, safe, secure life under your benevolent leaders who have your best interests in mind. You are a good, obedient citizen. I'm sure you will be spared harassment from the NDAA, patriot act, or 1 of the other 85,000 arbitrary regulations that you are required to obey.

You may be ok with murder and theft... I'm not.

"it`s quite obvious that nobody is trying to intimate that they somehow bear responsibility for the team`s success or failure..."

I never implied that

"you`re psychoanalyzing people for using the word "we" when rooting for their home team?...."

No, I wasn't. I came up with an analogy... and I really didn't see the difference, I still don't. I don't care what people do; i even said Jack's braggin or the congratulating didn't bother me at all. I thought it was funny. I wanted to know what people thought, and I got some good answers.

"it`s a sports forum..nobody`s talking about "government".....therefore it involves sports..."

That's why I posted in the general. People are talking about government. You just did it in your last post with your China analogy!! IF you don't want to talk about it, don't. Go to another thread. I have zero interest in 90% of the threads in here; but I don't go in each one and tell the poster we aren't talking about trannys, or pictures of nature, or Martin Luther King... i just ignore them.

I'm an asshole? I thought you were so above that kind of thing? You know, in the post you called me an asshole, without calling me an asshole, because you said you were above that?

Anywho......Of course you won't answer the simple question posed to you! YOU CAN'T!

You wrote: It's real, bro. We are 100x less free than we were 100 years ago. Can you argue that point without some assumption or personal insult?

So, I argued your point, without some assumption or personal insult:

What do you want to do, that you can't?

For a guy who stated what you did, surely you have SEVERAL examples you can rain down on me? Or, perhaps you have none, because it is total bullshit?

Kind of "ironic" that you haven't actually responded to any of my comments with anything but insults. Respond intelligently with a defense of your brilliant thoughts?? Or CANt you???

If u think I can't answer your silly question, this will be more pointless than I thought, but I will do anyway

U haven't posted 1 thought of your own on this thread!

How do you see freedom today vs 100 years ago???

It may cause you to actually think
