As far as this issue goes, I agree with the book, no offense to btj. I've never had a late bet cancelled at any book. I've never placed one that late, but there are several books, Olympic comes to mind, that have games up several minutes after the tip. Lots of books have lines up after the game starts even if it's just 2 or 3 minutes when that would give the bettor no advantage. That would be a lot of bets cancelled imo if this rule was followed by all books to the letter of that wagering rule.

books should not take a bet once the game starts. their computer should be able to reject a bet if made after the game starts. however if a book's computer accepts a bet, the bet should stand, no matter the outcome.

Cascade should have cancelled the bet (per their own rules) and told you to hit the door if they didn't want to play anymore.
