Testing out a theory Jack was pondering in the "General Discussion" forum - why not fade the picks of a "bad handicapper" who plays with a limited knowledge.
Well, when it comes to bases, that's me
I'm not wagering on the MLB - apart from Redsfann's guaranteed 4-0 tips
- and have a limited knowledge of teams and pitching strengths - roughly equal to your average sports fan, let's say.
So what's listed below is how I've picked today's card - both sides and totals. Jack's theory is that in the long run, fading them should be profitable.
Or will it merely end up around 50%?
Won't be able to do this every day but will play a full card whenever I can and track results. Hope people have fun following this thread.
Right, time to jump on the wheel...
MLB plays, 25/7
Marlins -140/under 7.5 -110
D'backs -118/u9.5 -110
Bo Sox -151/u10 -115
Chi Sox +125/o11 -105
Yanks -170/u10.5 -105
Rangers -151/u12.5 -115
Mariners -250/u9 -105
A's -138/u9 +100
Angels -172/u10 -120
Orioles (Game Two) +150/o12 -105
All to win/risk one unit ($100) ... and all stricty on paper
