Whatare you talking about? NOLA is not in need of any type of saving.....

Good fuckin' grief. The level of ignorance on here is outrageous... Just Sayin!

Too late, Richard....

My response was obviously aimed at the qoute that said shame on our country for not stepping up. Maybe he wasnt talking about the government:shrug: If I misread him then so be it. Having said this, there is another person in this thread that called your hometown a pile of shit and you were at least cordial to him. On the other hand you call me a dick for responding to someone else's post. I know I have never met you but I expected more. Gl to you and your homeland.

"the bunker"
Katrina was 5 years ago. N O has long way to go in rebulding. Had such a slow start to recovery. Hell Mississippi behind to.
As for gov role in oil leak. Three things helped. The pressure put on BP to move faster . The 20 bill they were forced to put in reserve. And the smart move of putting our cost guard leader in charge.

comparing an oil spill to an act of nature that literally smashed the gulf coast and several major cities?....to make a political point?...

brilliant..way to go,dude...

Relax, UGA. The ignorance statement was made because too many in the thread are speaking about what NOLA needs without having seen for themselves.

The Richard comment was intended to make light of the situation, as I have no beef with you or the rest of those who commented.

Anyway, Homedog has his opinions, and I have mine. He feels this is a piece of shit, but I see it otherwise. I make a good living, lead a very high quality of life and am extremely pleased with the way things ARE in NOLA. I sure wish tuition was a touch lower, and homeowners insurance is wayyyy too high for my liking, but you take the good with the bad. The good way outnumbers the bad imo. This is a great place place to live:toast:

To be honest, you wouldn't know that by watching folks with the tears in their eyes, and outstretched arms everytime Spike Lee drives by with a camera.

But, the media has always been a great propaganda machine. Number two behind the government. You live there and say everything is great? Ok.

And I know people love their roots. You are obviously no different. And like most people.....I've never been hit with natural disaster type life changing forces, so I can't relate to your situation. Still, I can't fathom why people with the means don't get the hell out, and stay out, of a place they know is doomed to fail, time after time?

At some point, don't you have to call a new place home?

It needs a lot of help. Things have to improve now that Nagin is out. What a complete idiot that guy is. But, the Landrieu's are nothing but a political machine so I don't expect a whole lot of improvement.

N.O. has the highest murder rate in the nation and that after half of the murderers were shipped to Houston and increased the murder rate there.
