James Madison?s leading scorer was arrested Sunday night and his status is uncertain with the team scheduled to play Long Island University in an NCAA tournament play-in game Wednesday night.
Rayshawn Goins, a 6-6 senior forward, was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct. After the arrest, which was reported by Mark Selig of the Harrisonburg (Va.) Daily News-Record, Goins was released on his own recognizance on $2,500 unsecured bond. The arrest stemmed from an incident at a team party Saturday night.
?The athletic administration is aware of the situation,? Madison officials said in a statement (via Selig). ?We will not be providing any additional comments until we review this matter [Monday] morning.?
Goins averages 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for Madison, which won the CAA tournament last Monday.
