"We broke Iraq, we gotta fix it...."

Saddam broke Iraq by taking over and plundering the oil profits for himself....

Saddam invaded Kuwait and got the ball rolling to where we're at today....

Saddam brutalized the people by force into following his every command.....

If we would have been serious about Iraq when they invaded Kuwait, part of the conditions of surrender would have been the surrender of Saddam and put on trial for war crimes, and reparations by Iraq to pay restitution to Kuwait, reparation for our expenses in fighting Gulf War I and putting out all those oil well fires.....we should own a good chunk of Iraqi oil just for liberating Kuwait and moving our military half way around the world to stop his a$$....

World opinion was on our side back then, we just plain fawking blew it and left him in power.....

We left and took a financial a$$packing for the effort.

At least in WWII we had the brains to drive the nazis clear back to Berlin and then put the surviving leadership of Germany on trial at Nuremberg.......

"the bunker"
i`m trying to stay away...it`s not easy...

one correction...the u.n. mandate was to remove saddam from kuwait.....germany,france,kofi and the gang would not go along with deposing saddam....

if that were the deal,we would have gone into kuwait alone....it was hard for the u.n. not to remove him from kuwait....with the world watching...

but, under the guise of bogus inspections...much like the iranian inspections...that are an obvious joke...as was the bait and switch game in iraq....the iraqi drama was able to be extended ad nauseum....

nothing much changed in the interim...

saddam was a cash cow then...as he was when we invaded and removed him....

his cohorts wanted him to stay in power...that`s why we never, ever would have gotten the u.n. to go along in removing him...didn`t matter whether he had nukes or chems or biological weapons or water pistols....

that wasn`t an issue for much of the u.n...nor was rwanda, or bosnia, somalia,darfur......or the abuses of u.n. workers in the congo...

Ok, if we were strapped by the u.n. mandate to leave Saddam in power, then let him overrun Kuwait with the then 4th largest army on the planet, let him overrun Saudi and the rest of the Arab princes and pricks, and then ask the royalty left that hasn't had thier wives and daughters repo-ed for the Iraqi gangbang what price they want to pay to get thier precious oilfields and thier women back....

Let Saddam run amok for awhile just to let the rest of the planet know what happens when we choose to not give a fvck for once.

Freedom isn't free and maybe these Arabs need a lesson in paying protection money, like maybe constructing a functioning military.....Nah, just rely on big brother USA to defend our oil while we build another palace....
