Raiders' Walker apparent victim of robbery, found unconscious
ESPN.com news services

Updated: June 17, 2008, 12:00 AM ET

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street early Monday morning, the apparent victim of a robbery.

The police report of the incident says that officers responded to a report of a downed man at Winnick Avenue and Koval Lane in Las Vegas at approximately 7:19 a.m. local time.

Police spokesman Bill Cassell told The Associated Press that the officers found an unconscious male, who was then transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with "significant injuries." Walker remained hospitalized on Monday night.

Las Vegas television station KTNV confirmed that the Walker listed in the police report was indeed the professional football player.

A Raiders spokesman told AP the team was "in the process of gathering information" and had no further comment.

Walker was released in February by the Denver Broncos after a knee injury cut short his season. He then signed a six-year, $55 million contract with the Raiders, hoping to recapture the magic that made him a Pro Bowler with the Green Bay Packers in 2004 and helped him to 1,084 receiving yards for Denver in 2006.

I would start by looking to see if any New England Patriots players or coaches were in the area & begin questioning of all the Pats fans in Vegas.

This is probably their newest tactic to get a jump (cheat) the competition.

Must be nice to be able to blow that much money on champagne. These millionaire athletes just have no concept of the value of money any more:shrug:

Source: KVVU Las Vegas, Fox5 News

KVVU Las Vegas, a Fox5 News channel, is reporting that Oakland Raiders WR Javon Walker was apparently a victim of a robbery and was found unconscious at about 7:19 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Koval Lane and Winnick Avenue, officers said.

Walker, who police say sustained an orbital fracture, was taken to Sunrise Medical Center's Trauma unit and is listed in fair condition, according to hospital officials.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Walker was seen Saturday night at Tryst at the Wynn spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered.

The RJ also said Walker was at Body English at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino until 6:30 a.m. Monday and that his first round of champagne cost him $15,000.

since he is going to be alright I feel it is okay to express my opinion. J Walk is a piece of shit over valued average wide receiver. I wouldnt be surprised if Oakland hired someone to mug him to try and get back some of his contract money.

What has he done in the past three years? Nothing that stands out to me besides complaining. Shut your moth and put up numbers. I am not going to lie, I smiled when I read this article this morning.

I hope Jamarcus Russell lobs a ball over the middle for him to go get and Champ Baily or someone lays him out and breaks his leg...Again! Way to go you dumb moron!

no, their is one Raider who is almost dead (hopefully) and still wouldn't know he made a mistake.

kiffin already doesn't like him because he came to camp fat.

too bad chad johnson wasn't available. he can wear a green master's jacket on the sidelines for all i care. no one can ever say he is lazy or overweight. certainly would have been a better buy at 55mil than pacman II, with a limp......
