Jags: 5-8, but margins of defeat this year have been: 3, 9, 7, 2, 7, 2, 2 and 1 points, in order. Three losses in the past three weeks by a total of FIVE points! Seems like they are always in the game but find ways to let it slip away. Capable of beating good teams (beat KC, Jets and Philly this year). Despite being 3 games under .500, Jax has outscored their opponents 276-252 this season. Also capable of losing to garbage squads (vs Hou, @ Dal). Still...looking at the opponent....
Bengals: Been burned on these guys so many times this year thinking they can at least cover the number (they can't, 3-10 ATS). Hilton guys loved 'em all year too. Clearly their season was over around mid-October, but now they really look to be playing out the string. Outscored by more than 150 pts this year! (235-387). Does Cinci get their first (and likely only) home win today?
Not crazy about taking a road fav, even a small one, in a nothing game. But I see the Jags with at least a bit of pride to be salvaged....nothing can save face for the Bengals this year. In fact, finishing last may be the goal now to ensure the top pick in the draft.
Does Jax lose their fourth straight and really hit rock bottom today...possibly slamming the door on HC Coughlin by doing so? Or do they stand up and grab one they really SHOULD win. Jags giving less than a FG is my lean. Any opinions?
