? Tonight's scheduled starter, Dustin McGowan, returned to the team hotel before last night's game because he was feeling ill w/ the flu. If McGowan is still sick today, Shaun Marcum will inherit his start.

Mcgowan is there tonite and will start. Gregg Zaun (catcher) said that there may be an advantage with the flu bug. It is Mcgowan's first start of the season and at Yankee Stadium and Zaun says that he would likely be very "amped up" and that this may help calm him down. Also, manager John Gibbons said that it is one of those things when guys with the flu bug often seem to have a better game than you expect.
I think we have all witnessed this in different sports so maybe we should not put too much of a negative spin on the flu bug thing.
