YTD: 2-2

Utah +2 @ Phoenix

The Jazz are riding a three game losing streak. They trail Seattle by 1.5 games for the 7th spot in the Western Conference standings. Utah does not want to finish 8th and get thoroughly embarassed by Sacramento in the first round. The veterans on this team have too much pride. I think Sloan will convince his players that it is extremely important to turn things around these last few games. The Jazz need to put an end to their losing streak right now, and gain some confidence heading into the post-season. Throw in a little revenge, the Jazz have lost 2 of 3 against Phoenix this season, and I think Utah becomes the smart play in this one.

Lean: Utah

I will be back later with my official plays on Orlando and Utah, assuming nothing changes. Good luck to all!

Tend to disagree on this one. The Jazz have 5 games left 4 of which are on the road while the Sonics have 4 games left 3 of them at home I really don't see any chance of the Jazz catching Seattle and I think it would be more important to go into the playoffs healthy rather that kill themselves to move up one spot which they would need Seattle to have a melt down at home to happen. Just my opinion good luck in whatever you play!

Irish, thanks for your reply. Your information is incorrect however. Seattle has three games left (vs Dallas, vs Memphis, @ Lakers). Utah has four games left (@ Phoenix, @ Golden State, @ Dallas, vs San Antonio). The Jazz can narrow the margin to one game with a win tonight at Phoenix. If that happens, it will then come down to how these two teams fare in their final three games. In my opinion, it is not unrealistic to believe that Utah can and will overtake Seattle for the 7th spot in the Western Conference. Good luck tonight!

By the way, in case you're interested, Utah would hold the tie-breaker over Seattle if both teams finish with the same record. Utah won the season series from Seattle 3-1.

Yea sounds like the same scenario as Milwaukee last night just because a team has to win doesn't mean they are going to Phoenix has not lost at home to Utah since 4-16-2000. love those teams that are not playing for anyhting that are playing loose sort of like Cleveland last night, bet you thought Seattle would beat Phoenix to!
