Jeremy Shokey is such a talented football player. I just wish he would keep his mouth shut, and quit taunting so much. I am surprised a veteran didnt take his head off sometime this year.:nono:

Shockey is good...

Shockey is good...

but, his Miami Hurricane-cocky attitude will get him in trouble. I just told my 13-year old that if I ever see that from him -- he will be put down a peg or two.
Play ball and celebrate after the fact -- It could be said that his dropped TD pass lost the game for the Giants?

Well said. I hope parents encourage their kids to not act like some athletes. I think it is a bigger shun on the defense when a player scores and simply hands the ball to the ref, like it was no big deal. When you celebrate like a classless loser, it makes it look like what you did was difficult. Act like you have been to the endzone before and will be back shortly.:nono:

Your post in somebody else's thread who had the Steelers

If it can be said that a player should handle himself with class, shouldn't a handicapper as well.

Act like you've been there before

the post was in response to the title of the thread. I thought it was a strange line also. I thought of it as a gift. Was not trying to imply anything by my comment. I didnt know which way to go at first but went with the points. Sorry if anyone was offended.:toast:

Did not see what he did to the little child, but heard he threw a cup of Ice Cold water at him. NY Giants then gave kid a football. Any comments/observations.

Great observaton Caesar! At the time, the dropped TD by Shockey didnt mean much, but boy oh boy is hindsight 20/20! One more TD would've been the final nail in the 49ers coffin. Too bad! ;)

I think shockey is the best tight end in the nfl. He is a great player gets his team pumped and gets the fans pumped. He is one of my favorite players to watch.

Too bad you won't be watchin him anymore this season. I wonder if he will be able to swallow anytime soon, what a choke job.

Yea it was real classy to get into it with the fans, typical arrogant assh*** that everyone rights off by saying he gets his team pumped up and he brings this team something special, yea another overgrown pampered star that we the fans have to put up with.

But it is great when they bite the dust like today after his antics in todays game. What a way to put him in his place.

A complete jerk, where did he go to college? Oh yea Miami, fl figures:nutkick :yup

I agree with you and most of what you said ctown. One thing though if he wasnt who is he could not be so brash. Its part of the game really. He knows he can do it and fire up the crowd and his team perhaps enough to win.

Hey you know what ctown. That bastid is one hell of a tight end. I never seen nothing like him in a long time at tight end. Isnt this his rookie season ? They will win alot of games because of him. You couldnt get him away from New York for two first round draft picks.

Not arguing his abilities as a tight end, but all the other crap about him.

I think we heard from quite a few guys right here in this forum about what a similar type of guy Sapp is in his persona. This kind of behavior grows old fast and nothing will stop it dead in its tracks than losing and losing like today even hastens its demise:D

80 Jeremy Shockey, TE
Height: 6-5

Birthdate: 08/18/1980
Birthplace: Ada, OK, USA
Years Pro: 0
College: Miami(Fla.)

This is the thing about Shockey. He weighs 252 and can run along side Mike Vick trash talking. Big man with 4.4 speed. Thats scary.

And he is a rookie.

shockey does not run even close to Michael Vick. Vick is the fastest most agile athlete in the NFL bar non e, no opinion here, that is fact. The only thing shockey runs faster than Vic k is his big classless ****ing mouth.

Here Here....

You can take all the 40 times you want but the fact remains that on the field Mike Vick is by far the fastest player (Lewis the Beer Truck Driver and kick returner from NO is a close second). Vick gets to a corner or thru a hole that two defenders are closing faster than anybody I've ever seen.

My wish is that we get to see 6 more years of injury free football from this guy (while he's still young enough to be this fast and electric). He's one of those guys you have to watch everytime he's on the field because something amazing might happen.

Agree with most posts on Shockey, he was fired up at the game and probably went overboard, as far as throwing water on a kid,

But as far as ability, he proved it every game this season, SO he still gets my vote as ROOKIE of the YEAR.
