Jerry Buss Passes Away At 80

Jerry Buss, longtime owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, has passed away at the age of 79.

Buss had been hospitalized with an undiagnosed form of cancer.

Buss purchased the Lakers from Jack Kent Cooke in 1979.

Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar each visited Buss during his final days.

A shame his lasting image of the team is the train wreck the team has become....

One of the greatest owners in all of sports. In his 30 years the Lakers made the playoffs in all but 2 years. I can't imagine how great his life was during the 80s.
