I posted to My Philadelphia Eagles' post to stir up the cowboys fans like Kneifl, livingtilth, etc, to get the rivalry blood going.I think both offneses are comparable. Defensively , however, Dallas is much better and have been on a roll. I am obviously a huge Eagles' fan, and have watched all of their games including pre-season. From the start, I have been very concerned with the Eagles defense. They lost their two top defenders Dawkins and Bradley. Dawkins was one of our top run and pass blitzers. He busted up a lot of third down plays, caused turnovers, laid the wood and led our defense. Bradley was an emerging Star, who could plug the run gaps and cover tight ends. These were our leaders on our defense and they are gone. Their losses along with Jimmy Johnson's death has been a huge blow to our defense. Dallas' offense is a major mis-match for our defense. The aging Trotter is our best run stopper in the middle but he cant cover Whitten. Hakeem Jordan was used as middle lb last weekend, that will not hapen again, he was blown away. Witherspoon was moved to outside LB, basically our lb core is in dis-array. When we have faced lesser QB's our complicated blitz screens have worked successfully. However, since preseason, when we have faced better QB's we get picked apart, our personnel on defense was much better last year. The Eagles are going to blitz , blitz , and then Blitz more and the Cowboys have the weapons to exploit this, but the Eagles really dont have much choice. If Romo remains hot this game is over. He has a tremendous amount of pressure on him to get over the play-off hump, and Assante Samuel was very close last week to a lot of perfect throws. Offensively, they will put Jackson in the slot, and move him around a lot, reverses, motion etc so that he can find space to work his magic. They will use Vick this weekend, and run more in the first half. This is the type of game that McNabb is at his best, when everyone thinks he will come out in choke. The Eagles were embarrassed last week, and will bring it, if they go down blitzing, so be it , go to war with your biggest weapons(Trotter's quote). This will be a much more competitive game and the Eagles will score this time around, my guess is 23-27 pts. The cowboys will get there pts also, in what should be a more competitve game! I can tell you that I have not talked to an Eagles' fan besides myself that thinks we will win this game, and Philadelphia has some of the most knowledgeable fans in the NFL. I have actually never seen such doubt for a game of this magnitude for the Eagles, usually a few knuckle-heads keep the faith. I believe in them and believe when a team, who has had so much recent success gets embarrased like they did last weekend, that they are a very live dog. My top play for this game will be the over, their will be a lot of aggressive plays by the Eagles on both sides of the ball, how this turns out for them, :shrug: , but it could result in short fields and quick scores.
