I remember back in my college days how much we loved this day and would booze and laugh and laugh.

Tried to listen today and I laughed a couple times, but couldnt get into it and actually when Rome himself talked I found it rather annoying.

Guess I am no longer a clone.

Listened to him very few times the last couple of years. When I was out doing sales calls I would have him on & listen to the smack-off, usually some were pretty funny & clever. Last couple of years Rome started irritating me with repeating stuff over & over.
My wife & I were walking out of our hotel back in 2002 the week before the Superbowl ( New Orleans ) & I spotted him waiting for a ride, went over & shook his hand, seemed like a pretty decent guy.

i can still picture him scurrying behind the desk that everett turned over looking white as a ghost......

great t.v.....

Always thought if it was fake, it was a stupid idea, and if it was real, Rome was an asshole......No matter what you think of someone, once someone request to be called by their real name, it should be honored. :0008

Vanished into vortex
"The Jungle' has certainly gone downhill in the last 4-5 years. Right about the time Rome thought he was going to be the biggest thing ever and was trying to decide between whoring himself out to Sirius/XM or go exclusively in-line I think he got disappointed that he wasn't going to command the price he thought he was.

Right about that time you could no longer listen on-line without paying for a membership and it seemed he put less and less into the show and let the listeners have most of the air time. It's since devolved into a shit slinging fest between regular callers and is nothing but an insult fest with a little sports talk thrown in.

Shame really because Rome was actually very good at what he did when he was at the top of his game.

he hung aroung long enough for the idiotic social network craze to fall right in line with his stupid lame adolescent approach to sportstalk radio.

sad part is that he actually played a part in the demise of other sportstalk startups across the country by being available and cheap to pump into the stations..
