already have 4 problems with him....

Use of Bullpen: pitches Dotel and Wagner for an inning when they are killing the Brewers with 15 runs on the board.....last night, a 2-2 tie in the 7th and he runs Nelson Cruz out there while Wagner and Dotel sit oon the bench.....then when we are down 8-2 he brings in Dotel for the 9th....

Baserunning: down 3 in the late innings, Lugo on 2nd....Ausmus, #2 hitter lines a single right at Drew, we send the runner home with 1 out......Bagwell up next.....runner gunned down, 2 outs, man on first

Stupid Decisions: Hits and run in the SECOND INNING with D Ward on the basepaths and M Ensberg, pretty much a windmill, at the plate.....Ensberg whifs at a fastball up but still in the zone and you can imagine what happens to D. Ward.....count was 2-1 so no guarantee of a good pitch with mendoza man Everett on deck

Pitching Rotation: Tim Redding is in the minors while we have Softball pitcher Dave Mlicki in the 4 spot....Redding has some stuff and on any given night he could shut you down....lucky for Mlicki to get out of each inning alive

On the course!
Here's one for you:

Today's Brewer/DBack game

Top of the seventh, and the Backs are up 1-0, and the bases are loaded with two outs.

Schilling is now at bat! Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think I let Schilling hit. I want a shot at some insurance going into those last 3 innings. I guess that's why I don't manage, because he failed, but pitched a solid 3 innings to get the win.

I sthe Arizona bullpen that bad, that you would risk a one run lead on the road?

I agree Brenly is a moron, but I would like to see anyone try and pull Schilling out of a shut out when he is working on a career high in k's.

So Cal
Dback bullopen is always a little suspect; even Kim has his ups and downs. But the key is the fact that Schilling probably would have kicked his ass if he was pulled.

*****WE DON'T WANT HIM BACK*****

Now you know what we have been putting up with for the last few years. His IDIOTIC hunches, his stupid sayings, the man is a moron....

He has this great reputation nationally, but I think that is because they don't see him day in and day out.

He would bat guys cleanup who couldn't even BUY a homerun, I don't miss the frustration...

I can't figure out why a team in the National League would hire a guy with strictly American League managerial experience. AL managing is much easier; much fewer decisions to make. Apparently Williams is a part of the old boy network who just keep getting recycled.

doesnot matter if you are up 15-2 or 2-2 early in season and really all season bp needs to get live game work. throwing on the side doesnot cut it have to have life action, and there is a chart that is followed who needs to get work in on that day, everything is done for a reason, you guys can call him stupid but look where he is,didnot get these jobs by manageing a tball team.

as far as hit and run and things if it works you are a god if not stupid, sitting back and waiting to hit the long ball doesnot cut it,you have to put pressudre on deff and put people in motion, its the batters job to get the ball on ground because runner does a flash back which makes him a step slower.

if you don't do these things early on how do you think you can exacute them when things really count, championships arenot won in april. but learning to get there and preforming your job right is. you don't do this shit in spring training, you are trying to get your team set and about 12 different others put together from rookie ball to aaa. thats why teams will struggle in hitting and lesser teams will play with better teams at the start. in a month or to look at pittsburgh and others they will be at least 4-5 games below 500. mark it down.

you should be happy your team is working on things and they fail now then later when you don't have a chance to make correction, and i think they did win today and he is getting his bp staff the work the need. everything is done for a reason very few things are done on a gamble. its just most people don't know this. i have a tigers playbook that i used in coaching after playing days were done its over 700 pages of things. some as complex as a 5 man infield double play ball hit to rover and who cover where and back ups. to as easy as how pre game bp hitting groups go. so give the guy a break he knows alittle to much media and fans fall right behind it. very easy to set and watch try playing or making the calls way different ball game then. most coaches, managers and players know 3 batters ahead what they will do if x y or z happens and how to react and also how to counter. a fan cannot see beyond the pitch that is being throwen most of the time. charts charts and charts there are many and they tell all. more to it then trow, hit and catch.

I agree with you , the manager has to find a way to get all the pitchers who make the roster some innings. They have alot of juggling in the bullpen to do before the pennant race hits, every manager probably has a different style, Tony Larussa is my favorite. However, I have never liked Williams. I don't think he builds good chemistry, and I just don't agree with the way he works his pen.

i do think he has done one thing right.....Ausmus hitting 2nd is a great move.....good contact hitter and he slumped big last year at the beginning....the guy is as smart as they come and a great hitter to have at the 2 hole.....i expect him to be up around 280 this year....this Zaun guy is a good backup too and he can slap the ball around too....

another thing we can't do is bunt....had opps two times in the 10th and 11th and one time we got a FC at 2nd and the next time we bunted it to the pitcher....you would think that we could have worked some of these kinks out in Spring training....

basically, D. Ward bailed Williams out again today with a HR in the 12th....got lucky to get to that point with Stone and some other mediocre RPs getting some good breaks out there...

LaRussa is probably my favorite manager....really like how he manages....might have messed up a bit last year in the playoffs but overall i think he runs a good game....he has a good team this year too.....Cards should win 95 this year if they can avoid injuries...but even with Williams down they call up Smith who threw double digit K's yesterday....
