Just a comment on how, even from the earliest days of our country, the gov't has passed the buck on difficult decisions--I.E--we all know SS and other entitlement programs are heading for disaster, but our current lawmakers pass on making the difficult decisions to fix them.
The slavery question was answered 90+ years later with a Civil War; thus--the more things change, the more they stay the same.
