Climate Change

You mean Global Warming?

Oh that's right.. after the coldest winter on record they had to change the name..

Link?

I know the midwest of this country had a pretty cold winter but am not sure if it was the coldest on record.

Actually California did have a record warm winter, but no where else in the country had a record cold winter.

In fact most of the northern hemisphere had a well above normal winter temperature wise.

The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for the January?February period (year-to-date) was 0.54?C (0.97?F) above the 20th century average of 12.1?C (53.8?F), tying with 2009 as the 11th warmest such period on record.

Here is the map I was looking for, outside of the midwest into Canada pretty much everyone else was above normal.

If you have some info that proves this wrong I would love to read it.

Pardon

Coldest six months in 100 yrs..

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/coldest-winter-record-100-years-22890066

And yeah CA had a warm winter but that wasn't the point..

The point is the name was changed because half the country was frozen and the term "global warming" wasn't fitting the narrative.

Not saying I don't believe in global warming as of now I am undecided on the subject.. but the name change was obvious and funny to me. People almost started thinking for themselves when they heard the term yet looked out their window to see ice and snow.. Quickly the name was changed.. Ahhhhhhhhh that's better.. back to sleep drones.

I thought it was "established" years ago that climate change was a more accurate term as global warming could theoretically result in harsher winters in some locations, even as the average global surface temperature of the planet went up. I mean sure maybe some of the headlines in the media were slow to catch up on that fact, but I don't think that has anything to do with the actual science. I highly doubt scientists were surprised by the past winter, or hired marketing agencies to "re-brand" their research and studies.

Like this video said, my opinion of climate change is immaterial, and I can't for the life of me figure out why belief in climate change splits along political lines, but I sure hope society as we know it isn't royally screwed by all this.
