Cleveland Browns fans have endured a series of grim seasons and 20 starting quarterbacks since the franchise's 1999 rebirth.
Now it's Johnny Manziel's turn as the Browns' starter.
Defensive coaches may dismiss the 6-0, 210-pound Manziel as a smaller Tim Tebow expecting his college ad-lib skills not to translate.
Browns coach Mike Pettine said, "I guarantee everybody that sacks him is going to stand over him and make the money sign."
Manziel's best payback? Score touchdowns.
Here are the seven most compelling Week 15 matchups:
Manziel vs. the Bengals defense
The skinny: Bengals coach Marvin Lewis' Bengals smacked Robert Griffin III around in his third, 2012 start, pounding him at every turn. Expect a similar approach.
Why it matters: Cincinnati can secure a second straight division title. Can Manziel spark a stagnant offense that led to interception-prone Brian Hoyer's benching with the postseason still in play?
Who has the edge: Manziel. Lewis has just 12 snaps of tape on Manziel. Manziel figures to make some mistakes as Cincinnati defensive ends set the edge, forcing him to beat them from the pocket. If Browns offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan can replicate RG3's debut when Alfred Morris ran for 96 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries, Manziel might provide that magic spark.
