Haven't posted in a while. Not since I went into hibernation for a bit thanks to the cold front that moved in. Can you imagine that - icicles in the middle of the summer, bummer
I needed to take some time off and only wish I had realized it sooner. I watched as a month's worth of hard work and bankroll dwindled to nada and even reached in my own pocket a bit at the end. I could see this was getting 'dangerous' and my desire to be around for FB season told me to just stop and sit on the sidelines for a bit. This was right about the time MJ went into his freefall, so I hope it wasn't my icicles that traveled down 95 to him
I have been playing for the last week, small and silently. I figured today was the day to jump back into the thick of it since my MJ Tee arrived in todays mail. I figure how can I possibly not 'rise' while wearing it
Here be the plays:
Houston over Chicago
Going with the hotter team, hotter pitcher who is at home here. Big chalk to lay, which I rarely do, but feel it is warranted here. Stros have a statement to make in this series and I think they do tonight against a pitcher who also needs to make a statement. I do not think Julian's statement will be heard over the roars of the Enron crowd. -Small play on Hou on runline as well.
Pittsburgh over Arizona
Like Ritchie in this spot. He has hit a groove and gets to continue in a spot with no real pressure. Arizona needs to win to stay atop their division. Pittsburgh although not a contender, still needs to save face and they know it will be harder tomorrow against Schilling. I know Pitt does not hit lefties well, but then again Anderson does not pitch very well. Hopefully these will neutralize each other. Think Pitt is a live dog and the takeback is nice to boot.
Mets over Padres
Going with the hot pitcher and some nice stats from Swami's page.
Minn over Cleveland
Originally a no play but I think I'll back Raymond with this one.
