A sign in the bank lobby reads: Please note that this bank is installing new drive-through teller machines enabling customers to withdraw cash without leaving their vehicles. Usually I end up behind the person that checks their balance before trying to get money. You would think you know how much you have in the bank. :cursin:

here's how behind the times I am. I have never used an ATM machine. I have no clue what the PIN is for my check card, and when somebody asks, I always tell them to ring it up as 'credit'.

Is there any difference between using credit or debit when you use your check card at, say, a grocery store? I've always used credit and never paid any fees or anything (at least that I know of). Just curoius if there is any difference.

For the merchant there is, it costs less for them to process the purchase as a debit.

Yeah, credit costs more for the merchant, but is more profitable for banks....

So there is the never ending competition. Merchants trying to entice you (overtly and covertly) to use your PIN. While banks offer bonsuses for using the credit option on purchases with your debit card.

I wonder if Neteller could ever get a VISA/MasterCard logo on their cards?!

debit is automatically deducted from your account (and you can see it online same day), whereas credit is monthly and can take up to 2 days for it to appear on your online statement...I charge all purchases via credit for my skymiles :s4:

What the hell do you guys do when you need cash? Go to the bank every time and wait in lines, or does that whopping $10 cash back at the grocery store get you through.

Hey Clint, are a member of the cashless nation, or what? Are you like all those women that pay for a pack of gum with their debit card and hold people up for 5 minutes at the 7-11?
